Default You Are Invited to Wixom Open House!

Hear ye, hear ye ZR1 owners, there will be an Open House at Wixom on Thursday August 16!

All of our Corvette friends and enthusiasts are invited to tour our engine build facility and see the fine cars on display. As you know we build the high performance Chevy V8's found in the top of the line Corvettes. And perhaps you'll see some old friends and perhaps meet some new ones!

This will be a working Open House. The engine floor will be working as usual as we need to meet a normal build schedule. The schedule is tight and does not allow for a day of low production. So visitors will be welcomed and given a tour, but the tours may not be quite as extensive as in the past.

So if you'd like to see the Wixom Performance build center this will be a great time to do it. Maybe even meet your engine builder...

Should be many fine Corvettes and other muscle cars on display.

Here is a link to our web site for more info:

http://www.gmpowertrain.com/pbc/

Many thanks to our great Corvette friends (especially you Deb!) for keeping the enthusiasm for our hand built engines. We love them too!!

I'm gonna try real hard to drive Carly up there for this, since it is on the exact one year anniversary of my engine build experience

Here's a picture of Carly (on the left, fore ground), at our recent "Summer in Hyde Park...some are not" Corvette event in the high mountains of New Mexico. We had over 170 Corvettes there.

Deb,
We are looking into it ... sent a "tour request" in today to Donna. Checking hotels in the area .. will have see what is going on here as time gets closer. We are almost 600 miles away and IF we make it, will have to head back right after the tour.
Will many of you folks spend most of the day hanging out there?
Will keep ya posted.
Dick

Since it is an Open House I don't think you will be turned away - but the RSVP is nice especially if you are part of a large group.

We're looking forward to seeing all of you Dream Cruisers!

Oh, and today I had the pleasure of doing an LS9 build with customer John and his lovely wife Tracy. They have a Blade Silver ZR1 ordered, and will be watching the Bowling Green build and doing Museum Delivery. Hooray for them - joining the ZR1 fraternity - er sorority - OK maybe ZR1 Club? Congrats to John and Tracy! Their first Vette since his beloved 57.

Good to see people doing the "whole enchilada" for their ZR1s, it's the only way to go with this rocket ship.

Thanks for the invite, however August 16th I will be touring the factory and museum in Bowling Green.

I'm not taking my ZR1 however. I just toke it to Muscle Car City in Punta Gorda, Florida from my home in South Florida with Corvettes Of Miami Club, this past Sunday.

My trip to Bowling Green will be in my new Callaway SC606 Corvette. I need to put a few miles on it.

Sorry, but Carly will not make the reunion there. My wife has said we are visiting her relatives and entering Carly in the Colfax County car show and parade instead.....maybe next year?
