I just upgraded from an '01 to an '08 Z06. The car is on decent condition F1 Supercars. With only 22k on the car, I'm assuming they're original. I got to thinking, could I fit a replacement set of tires in the car? 3 in the hatch and one in the passenger's seat?

I'm leaning toward no, but would love to be proven wrong, especially via a pic.

PS. the car is awesome

I've had two rears in the back, if I push the passenger seat back forward. Not sure if that leaves me room for a front one in the seat though. Keep in mind, when doing this, you may be able to stuff a small duffle bag somewhere, but that's it. Recall reading a member removing the passenger seat, and still couldn't fit all four. If putting tires inside the car, good idea wrapping them in Kurgo Tire Totes. Not actually rated for the rear 325 size, but I use them, and fit.

2 tires max. Could only squeeze one in the hatch and then one on the passenger seat just like Dirty Howie stated above.

I carried my ZR1 rear tire/wheel on the vert seat to get it repaired last week.

Just leave the hatch open and you'll be fine. Just tie it down with a shoe string or something so it doesnt bounce around.

Can't say I'm much a fan of the roof rack idea either, as actually weighed my Hoosier track set. Rears are 54 lb each, and fronts are 44 lb each. Plus, all that aerodynamic drag, surely cuts a couple mpg off highway travel. Some guys manage to install a small hidden hitch to pull a small tire trailer. Usually room for a cooler too.

That's what I've done for a short distance drive. Not really a good idea to do unless you're absolutely stuck.

Aint gonna happen. I tried and wound up taking the tires to be mounted in the SUV the day before and drove the Z the next day. I did see a post on here that had pictures of the tires in the hatch area sitting straight up and one in the passenger compartment but even that OP stated that it was dangerous not to mention illegal

Yes you can. 335/30/19s with jack and lots of other stuff around them. I do it to go to the Drags, and when I make my 995 mile drive from the Oregon winters to the So. Cal winters. 30 to 60 degrees warmer and then back to Oregon in the spring.

1st push the passanger seat forward and the seat back forward as well. put a tarp/sheet/ or something like a thin blanket in the trunk and up the back of the trunk area (so you dont screw up the upolstry. put the first wheel in and up over the hump by the passenger side, then put the other tire in the center. the edge of the trunk tire will be a 1/2" off of the latch. Slowly close the rear trunk lid and adjust the tires until it completly closes. It will work ( alothough you cannot put a passenger in with you). note: put the wheels in so the outter side of the rims are facing down, that way you can store stuff in the center of the wheel. I have done this with my C5 as well as the Z. It will work just fine and beats hauling a trailer. I put a roll airline carry on on the floor in the front and all tools and a floor jack alongside the tires in the trunk with room to spare. just a bit of moving the tires around till they are clear to close the trunk without pressure.

The OP is asking if a replacement set of tires can fit in the car. A set consists of 4 tires, no? We all know you can squeeze a pair in the back.

If I'm following you correctly, you need new tires soon & you want to buy tires, put them in your Z06 and drive to a local tire install shop?

If so, why not buy the tires & have them shipped to desired tire install shop?
