[ZR1] C/D Lightning lap 6 winner=ZR1

Honestly i'm not that impressed. They didn't bring any real sports cars to the track. The GTR really isnt in the same league as the ZR1/GT2RS/GT3RS/Aventador/Gallardo Superleggara LP570,ZondaS. I'd like to see real competition.

I think it's quite clear at this point that it would take the Aventador to beat the ZR1 on sport cups for less than $500k. That is pretty astounding there is NO other factory production stock car that can do it for under half a million besides the Aventador. I would think the GT2RS, GT3 4.0, 458, and the highest performing Gallardo model would be 'close', but still behind.
Amazing.

Bwright did mention a few real contenders though under 500k i forgot about. The 458 Scud and the Mclaren MP4 would be dangerous. Not as sure about the GT2 RS and I think the 599 GTO is too heavy. They're all in the same ballpark though performance wise, so it would likely come down to driver.

I agree, I really wish they had some better competition. The McLaren, GT2RS, and Aventador should have definitely participated. I wonder why not? Did the manufacturers not want to participate? That would be telling. Could just be an availability issue though.

You won't see a factory sponsored Ferrari against a ZR1, or a Z06 for that matter. I guess they've chosen not to look silly performance-wise against cars that are 1/2 to 1/3 their price.

I just took a look back the results of when they previously tested the ZR1 and ran the 2:51.8 time, the peek speed was 157.4 mph. This year with the 2:50.7 time the peek speed was only 154.6 mph. Even last years test with the Z07 had a peak speed of 154.7 mph. There was definitely and issue with the conditions or driver for the peak speed to be down almost 3 mph from the previous ZR1 test and slower than the Z07 from last year. With all things being equal, the Cup tire should help increase your peak speed by allowing you to carry more speed through the corner before that long straight. I still believe GM's claim that they saw a 3 sec improvement using the cup tires at VIR.

I guess there is always next year.

Yes, the only production factory car. The ACR is the real deal, but is compromised for driving around town. Plus, they don't make it anymore. I can't wait for the next gen Viper though. It's going to be a monster.

Looks like a good run for the ZR.
Too bad the 458 wasn't included.

Always good to see the ZR-1 come out on top, but I agree with the poster that said there was no real competition there. Would have been nice to see a 458, GT2RS, Aventador and Mclaren.

The ACR is not as comfortable, but has a manually adjustable suspension
And along with PS2'S on a second set of wheels is fine for street duty--
The 2010 ACR is still available new ( a few left over) and remember the 2010 ran more than 10 seconds faster than a 08 at The N-ring......
As far as the GTR- hate to admit it , but it is real impressive just not my cup of tea......I think it does belong in this group.....just stuck on US cars-
