Default If yours vibrates

Not to get into a whole big thing here but if your ZR1 has some vibration at speed it may disappear with mileage.3,800 miles on mine and it's completely gone and I had some "white knuckle" vibratin goin on.

Did your car sit on a dealer's lot a relatively long time before you bought it?? If so, I wonder if flat spotting of the tires (previously speculated by others) could be a big contributing cause and it takes a lot of driving for the flat spotting to disappear. Mine is a DD and it was an ordered car so it didn't sit on a dealer lot.

I've got more than 20,000 miles on my ZR1.

I've got 2 sets of wheels/tires/sensors and have a little more than 10,000 miles on each set.

The car still vibrates with either set on it.

When I put the wheels on my Z06 they don't vibrate.

So.....rob62, I think you had a different problem than most of us have.

If a ZR1 has a vibe, I think in most cases it isn't going to go away just because you drive it a couple thousand miles.

I wish it were that simple!!!!

New wheels/tires didn't do it for mine either. Good info on putting yours on another car did not result in the issue
Some people have said their vibration lessened with miles, but as you stated Bob, not all cases are that simple.

I had the vibration problem when I installed a different set of rims and tires. I resolved it by getting everything RF balanced. I had to go to a couple different tire places but the vibration is gone.

Some people have tried different set of rims and tires and still have the problem. Probably because they keep going to the same tire shop.

Good luck.
Mine still vibrates after new wheels and tires AND a different tire shop. Any smart suggestion for me? Maybe, just maybe the F-n rotors are out of balance that GM refuses to fix???

Who are you talking to? I know they have been working on them, and several people have had their rotors replaced. PM me if your dealership will not get things resolved and NO I won't tell you good luck with it

That is news to me. The last "official" news on this forum regarding this issue is that GM wants to index the wheels to the rotors after RF balancing. Any vibration after that is "normal". That is spelled out in a TSB.

I have not seen GM balancing rotors or replacing them.
