Gene, are there any attachments that would allow the charger to be used on a battery out of the car; like on a bench etc?

This one was specifically designed to be plugged into the cigarette lighter only.

I will be ordering one here shortly (along with some ceramic front pads) for my Z. With the month long exercises and deployment coming up I am definately going to need one of these.

I hope the car even starts when I get back April first, will have been over a month since I last fired her up.

The VIN request on our site is for us to double check that the parts fit on your vehicle. Of course, for the battery tender, that is not an issue. Thank you for your business.

If it has been a month since you've started you'll be fine. Thank you for serving our country and I look forward to the opportunity to earn your business.

Thanks Gene. I placed the order and can see it pending. I did not get an e-mail notification though. Will I get one when it ships?

Thanks,
Ben

The CTEK is a very good charger. I don't like the setup of where the cord will come out of the car to plug in to the 110 volt outlet.

A Z06 owner and friend of mine ran his connector out the back near the license plate. The cord doesn't touch the paint.

That's a good point, but no damage will be done using it in an outlet either.

This may seem a bit redundant but if you are plugging into the lighter to maintain a charge aren't you draining the battery at the same time you are trying to keep it charged? I assume then that the amount being sent to the battery is larger than the amount you are draining when plugged into the lighter? Just seemed a bit odd to me...

It wouldn't drain any more power than a battery tender hooked up directly to the battery.

Not to beat a dead horse but that makes no sense. If the battery tender were hooked up directly to the battery it would probably be plugged into a wall unit. The question was did it have a plug in adapter for the car...my point was if you plug it into the car you are charging isn't that self-defeating? You are draining the battery via the plug-in while trying to charge it at the same time? Unless I am missing something it just seems as though this is not aparticularly well thought out question/issue....now that I think about it, this is probably wasting a lot of time over an issue that is not all that important...I am sorry I brought it up @ all.......

This all got kinda misconstruded. This does not use any of the vehicles power but instead back feeds to charge the battery through the cigarette lighter port
