Default Texas Mile?

Has anyone run their stock ZR1 at a top speed venue..ie: Texas Mile. There is an exotic rally coming to S FL (reserving private airport strip ) & I am tempted to give her a run ..I am curious how she runs and holds the road at 190MPH +.. Any experiences to share would be appreciated.
I ran my Ford GT up to 185+ (100 degrees temp) and she held very nicely..

I can tell you that I'm quite sure that my car would be velvet smooth and hold the road quite nicely at 187 mph, theoretically of course!

cheers!

This last August at the www.sorcrace.com a yellow ZR1 went 172 in the mile it was stock. Granted the elevation is higher than Texas and I am not sure how great the driver was.

I'm not 100% on this, but I thought I heard/read somewhere that a stock ZR1 was in the mid to high 180's.

Our ZR1 ran 196.7 mph at the Texas Mile with a few bolt-on's:

A bone stock one ran 184 mph on the same day.

Ran the Mojave mile Saturday, made three runs, this is the video of my first run. My car is bone stock,
the fastest time of the day was 200 MPH run by a 69 camaro with 1100HP set up for the mile.

http://sharing.theflip.com/session/e...video/11328573

The elevation was 2700 feet and the wind was blowing stronger as the day went on. My next two runs were
174.4, 174.1MPH
The two fastest street cars were modded ford gt40's the faster one ran 186MPH one other ZR1 was there
from Las Vegas headers, pulley, and tune, I think he ran 178MPH so three street cars beat me, I know one
ford GT was towed there.
So only 4 cars ran faster than my stock ZR1

The wind was buffering the car around pretty bad, and the rain half way down didn't make for a smooth run,
it was two hands on the wheel. With the wind pushing the car around it really gets your attention at that speed.
I have new respect for Nascar drivers and the bike riders were crazy, one bike went 194MPH, man no thanks.
Here is a link to the starting grid if you whant to check out the competition my car was 111

Great stuff. I ran my Ford GT up to 178 +/- ..Honestly, I was not comfortable enough to continue beyond that speed...I am planning on trying it in April with the ZR1...I like the way you characterized the run .."really gets your attention at that speed."
Thanks for the post..

I will be running my ZR1 this weekend March 14th at the airstrip on the Dade/Collier county line. I ran my 2008 Viper in Dec and it went 179.2 mph w/a 10mph headwind. At that event two stock ZR1's ran a best of 174 and 179.6 mph.

You can register at www.topgunrun.com for $150.00. Or just come down to watch.

Be safe and have fun. My ZR1 only has 300+ miles..I am driving her more [ now]so I can run her in April...I was hoping to have her broken in by now but I had a broken ankle and am just starting to drive again..albeit not too aggressively.
Look forward to hearing more about your March run..

the fastest of my 3 runs was 182.3 mph on stock tires. i have a 2.87" pulley on the stock supercharger and a 100 octane tune + catback exhaust. my weather station reported a 4000 density altitude and a 10 mph crosswind on my run. the fastest GT at this event went 189.XX mph with a 4.0 L whipple supercharger and custom traction control system on stock tires.
