http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ce-rotors.html

http://www.racingbrake.com/Two_piece...p/2073-311.htm
Weight Comparison
Racing Brake:
One-piece 19.9 lbs.
Two-piece 18.6 lbs.
Weight Savings: 1.3 lbs.

I would bet that the Performance Friction rotors would be lighter than the RB. I had the PFC's two-piece on my Evo.

I checked out the site - looks like a good deal. Do you know if the 'racing' rotors are substantially thinner and thus likely to wear out sooner than 'regular' rotors under the same street use conditions?

I am extremely happy with these. Quiet. More stopping power with the XP8 pads than with stock rotors. Looks great.

The 6lb less weight per rotor quoted is for the rears. Fronts are about 10lb lighter each IIRC.

Under street use conditions you will probably get 100,000 mi. out any rotor. Driving on the street barely uses the brakes at all, compared to race track style driving.

Another good thing about the 2 piece rotors is, when it is time for replacement, you only have to replace the ring and the bolts. The hat can be reused. (less cost)

6.25 lbs less for rears and 10.25 lbs less for the fronts. That comes out to 33 lbs of reduction in rotating, unsprung mass!!! That is huge in terms of performance.

Yeah, yu wanna play yu gotta pay...I'd a thought people serious enough to upgrade to racing tires wouldn't hesitate, given the opportunity, to upgrade the brakes as well, I stand corrected

I feel that applying logic to an illogical persuit is generally an illogical thing to do This attitude really helps increase the fun factor which is the whole reason behind having the Z06 in the first place.

Cheers, Paul.

Our rotors are 100% made in the USA using Coleman Racing rotors and we machine the aluminum hats ourselves. They are directional, correctly vented, slotted only - no holes, are a direct bolt in replacement, and weigh 9.75 pounds less then the stock ones. Yes, that is each. The rears are all the same specs except they weigh 6.25 pounds less the stock. That is a total weight savings of 32 pounds of unsprung, rotating mass!

It is impossible to say how many track days you can get out of a set of our rotors due to pad selection, tracks, cooling, and just how hard a driver is pushing his car. I can tell you this, I ran the entire race season, 13 track days on one set of rotors and 2 sets of pads last year. This year I ran a little less, only 10 track days, again on 1 set of front rotors. I ran both years on the same set of rear rotors and pads. This is on the full blown SCCA racecar that you see in my avatar. I am sure that Derek and others can chime in with what they have seen from our stuff.

Our C6 Z06 Front rotors are $373.50 each, replacement rings are $196.00 each. The rear rotors with parking brake are $405.00 each, replacement rings for those are $155.00 each. Bolt kits are $15.00 each.

We are running a sale through Christmas. 10% off on our rotors or Cobalt Friction pads, 15% off if you purchase rotors and pads. Great time to stock up for next season.

Give us a call if we can help or if you have any further questions.

I have to agree that your parts are great.
I bought a used set from a vette race shop in Ontario. I have no idea how much use they had before I put them on but I did get probably 6-7 days at Mosport with them. Most of those days were in the hot summer and I have no extra cooling ducts at the rotor. I know this proves nothing but I was happy with the rotor wear after my experience with the OEM's which tended to develop cracks early.

The shop had new rotors built for the hats somewhere else and it did not work at all.......heavy cracking after only 4-5 days.
All during my use of the colemans I was switching pads.... Porterfields, Hawkes, Cobalt Carboteck etc.........

All this to say that maybe I havent given the Colemans a fair try..... maybe I should get a set and use from new and see if $700 for a front pair vs $166 for the OEM's makes sense........ As far as performance I havent noticed much but to be fair it has been mostly cool since I switched back to stock.

edit:
I was just told that the used rotors I bought were not Colemans but Hardbar hats using PFC rotors. Sorry to be one of those spouting BS on the internet. The PFC rotors are around $515. As I said above they lasted great for me considering they were already used. 09 12 11
