Spring Mountain ZR1 school Dec. 14th, Anyone going?
I will be attending Spring Mt.ZR1 school on Dec. 14th and 15th. I was wondering if anyone on here was going to be at the same class?
Also a question for those that have attended this class that already had some signifcant road course experience. Did they taylor the class at all for the skills you already had? I have pretty extensive road course experience and even have done some instructing for the local NASA region so I am interested in what someone with similar experience thought of the class.
However the class is introductory in nature and is not individually tailored. It's not that you won't learn something new maybe, but they assume that no one has real road course or track experience. Course has multiple aspects including, wet skid and breaking for use on everyday situations. However the track is your class room and you will get a lot of seat time. If you have that much experience prior to taking the course then you need to pay for day three. That is when you do most of the open tracking.
The facility is awesome and the track layout is excellent and pavement is very smooth. The staff is fantastic and it is first class from start to finish.
I went last February when I bought my 09 and today i scheduled for February 22-24 for my 2010.
cheers!
cheers!

That is what I figured by reading the description. I have thought about the 3rd day, I really don't have the extra $1200 to spend right around the holidays right now. Maybe I can hit the stip the night before to see if I can get some money for the 3rd day. Oh well, it should be fun either way. I guess I will mention my experience to the staff anyway.
Suggest you call and ask if you can apply your experience to a level 2 course instead. I've been through Levels 1, 2 and 3, and they're all great. But you will be doing skill exercises, lead follows, and heel and toe practices with folks who have never been on track before. If you've instructed NASA, you're well beyond that. Talk to Donna there. I've been a total of 5 times, and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I may give that a try, but since the ZR1 class is being paid by GM I am not sure they can apply it to a different class.

I will be at the same class.
I am also signing up for a third day to get some track time. So, 14th-16th for me.
I'll see ya there.
What do I have to do to get my paperwork for the class? I bought mine back in August and still haven't received it. The dealer tells me something should show up in the mail.

My selling dealer sent me mine. Far as I know it has to come from them. I made reservations for the school before I received the car. Spring Mt. sent me a confirming letter. cheers:
I'm scheduled for the December 11-12 course, and am really looking forward to learning more about my '10 ZR1. I'm glad to read so many positive comments about Spring Mountain.

Do you mean 10 and 11th? The 12th is a Saturday, bet you are in the course with Zippy and I on the 10th and 11th. Let me know,
