Default GM Keeps Calling Me.

I just took delivery of my 2010 ZR1 on Oct. 10th. GM keeps calling me when I am not home and has not left a message. All they would say to my wife is that it relates to a safety issue with my car. Anyone else get this call? Any ideas as to the subject matter?

Scott

I think all ZR1 (or corvette) owners get this call from the bowling green plant to make sure they are happy with their car. I got this call after I bought my ZR1. I've heard of many others too getting that call.

I did not see anything in VIS about a safety issue with these cars. Could be something out there I could not find. Larry

It is fairly routine to have GM/BG calling new owners of corvettes to thank them for the purchase and to ask about their ownership experience to date.

Purchased my ZR1 the end of April, no call from GM/BG for me.

Too bad, although I love the car and think it's the best Vette they've ever done I have a number of issues that have to be addressed and would have appreciated being able to discuss this w/ someone from the plant. With the dealer closings I'm forced to go out of state to a dealer whose tech is competent enough to work on the Z.

Scott, no call here.
Why don't you ask your wife to take down name & number, and you call them back?

Maybe so, but why would they say it relates to a safety issue, that makes no sense.

Have you activated your OnStar? I didn't want to activate mine and they called several times with a similar message. The finally resorted to calling my dealership several times and told him what they wanted.

Well I told everyone in my house to give them my work number, unfortunately the only person who somewhat listens to me is my Chocolate Lab. And she only does it half the time.

They asked one of my family members if they were familiar with the car. They said no as I am the only one who drives it.

It can't be Onstar, as my account is activated. And you would think if it was a real safety issue, why are they only trying once every four or five days. I would think they would be a little more persistent.

I changed the oil on the car this weekend, and just eyeballed fluids, etc. I did not see anything that stood out in a normal maintenance situation. Car drives fine, ride quality seems very good. Maybe the Supercharger will blow up over 5000 RPM? Who knows.

Scott.

I traded my 09(great car) for a 2010 and also have issues with the new car....I never received a call and would have appreciated a call also to discuss these issues...I am considering the GM buyback...

I hope this doesn’t turn into a "everything wrong with the car" post.

It seems like they have stopped calling. I guess it is not that important?

I would get to the bottom of it somehow. A safety issue is nothing to mess around with .

I will try to call one of GM's service centers Monday. If they don't know, I may try the NCM where I took delivery.
