OP, what about GM's statement about cooling issues for the ZR1 if the boost is increased?

Thanks!

Second is intake air temperature. The naturally aspirated car will have near ambient intake air temperature through the traps, making the same actual power it did on the dyno at that point in time. Same goes for nitrous though IAT's will be well below ambient.

Not sure what the IAT's were on this ZR1 but it could be well upwards of 150deg through the traps meaning it's actual power on the big end is a bit less than what it achieves on the dyno.

It may have only reached IAT's of 20-30 deg above ambient on a dyno pull.

Only way to closer equalize the two would be to run the naturally aspirated car on a 150deg day or increase the efficiency of the intercooler system on the FI car to achieve ambient IAT's through the traps. Meth injection could drop down the temps as well.
This guy knows what he is talking about.

I would say neither of you has a clue.

Even if peak numbers are the same the FI car will have a much broader torque and power band than an NA car.

If the forced induction car has an inefficient cooling setup, then sure it will drop trap speed at the end of the ¼. However, most experienced FI owners have efficient setups and are closer to ambient than you might think. For example, my twin-turbo car on an 80 degree day logged 91 degrees IAT at the end of the ¼, that icludes heating the tires up before the run.

That is excellent. I like the turbo's better than the SC's, that is for sure.

Get back out to the track, LFE got you at 10.03, I guess they have the worlds fastest ZR1 now.

Has a time slip ever been posted for the 10.05 pass by the ZR1 owned by nc1205? If yes, please post a link to it.

I don't get it, this car claims 730whp and traps 138mph. The lingenfelter claims 739whp and traps 142mph on a warm day. Lingenfelter must have better cooling system I guess.

I'm pretty sure its hot in miami too plus the driver of that car supposedly weighs around 350 lbs. In addition, that car is running the much heavier stock wheels in the front compared to the lingenfelter car's ccw drag pack. Times and trap speed make sense to me given similar power but other differences.

The lingenfelter package does seem like a much more efficient and safe way to make the power though.

I love Turbos too. It takes thought to get a really efficient cooling system going. After using high power shop fans to create usable air deflectors into the intercoolers and measuring air relief flow behind the intercooler, the setup was able to actually produce better than ambient temps cruising. At 60mph on 90 degree day I have dozens of logs showing 80-82 degree IATs. With the same creative thinking, the ZR1’s setup can be enhanced a great deal in terms of cooling; sounds like Lingenfelter had done much of this already.

Thanks for the link to the 10.21.

Surprised there's only a skinny post asserting 10.05, but no slip, no video, no details. Anyone here witness the pass?

It's irrelevant at this point.

His motor is blown to crap.

Blown as in destroyed.

That's to bad. Can't say I'm suprised though. Seemed like he just haphazardly threw mods at it. He nearly doubled the boost and the only intercooler upgrade was a bag of ice sitting on top of the supercharger.

If you can't, I will for you. I am local and I think my numbers speak for my driving skill.

If you own a welding shop on 210 then we have met in the past.
