Default 2010 ZR1 Changes

The following are the changes made to the 2010 ZR1:

Now available in cashmere interior
Atomic Orange and Victory Red is gone
Torch Red is added
ZR1 now comes with PTM - Performace Traction Management technology
Competition gray wheels now available for ZR1
New interior trim plates - Orbit and Gunmetal patterns
Launch control available for all manual transmissions
ZR1 available in all 8 colors now

I got this info from the Corvette Musuem for their corvette bash.

Good info. My build just might get pushed into the 2010 model

They also stated that 1,240 ZR1s will be built for 2009. 3% of those are 1ZRs

No wonder i was having trouble finding a 1ZR

Nice additions, but none that really interest me which is nice because then i'd be kicking myself for buying an 09.

Haha, lets see when the GTR lovers chime in about if GM is gonna void the warranty for using it.

Can someone who is attending the Bash find out from engineering if Lauch Control & PTM is able to be retrofitted to the 09's?

I would think these two features are software based and maybe a firmware update could be done.

That would be nice, but I doubt it. The 2010 model is going to make our 2009 model less desirable, like the 1990 ZR-1 compared to the 1995 ZR-1. Oh well, good excuse for me to buy a 2010 and get rid of my 2009.

What is PTM, and how is it different than the current active traction system?

Same question about launch control?

They tested the system and it even improved lap times of professional drivers.

Thanks for the info and link. Is this option something they have been talking about adding, or is GM just full of surprises today?

So it is definitely a given that JSB will remain the only Blue.??? I was hoping to match my wife's new SS/RS Camaro with Imperial Blue Metalic...a darker shade of Lemans Blue.

A Crystal Red ZR1....hmmmm. That just might be the ticket!! I think I would want to color match the accents.

This system in already in the 09 CTS-V...

Here is a better description of it..

Performance Traction Management ensures that engine torque is instantly matched to the allowable tire
traction to enable maximum acceleration. In a situation such as a corner exit, this new technology allows the
driver to maintain throttle pressure without losing traction. Performance Traction Management, using
electronic controls, directs torque to maximize acceleration and traction in conditions, such as hard
acceleration when more power is commanded by the driver. Where stability controls tend to manage wheel
slip in an effort to slow or steer the car, Performance Traction Management regulates torque delivery to
enhance acceleration and provide an optimized launch. The system maximizes acceleration by instantly
matching torque to the available tire traction.

Sure helped the CTS-V get around the ring.

In a way, I'm kinda dissapointed that this stuff didn't come on my 2009 ZR1. Now, I have to sell mine and order a 2010. Cyber Gray with comp gray wheels.

Well, sounds like you don't love your car all that much if you're that eager to kick it to the curb. hahaha Probably wont be long after the 2010 models that something "newer, shinier, and with different" features will come along as well.

Don't get me wrong, I do like my car. I'm not married to it though. It's like having a girlfriend. I'm kicking out the older used up model for a newer younger one.
