After 25 months, the quest is over. My ZR1 is in her new home in Oklahoma City. The only word to describe her is WOW!
In spite of all of the negative threads about dealers, I have nothing but the highest praise and respect for Gene Champneys at Penske Chevrolet in Indianapolis.
Gene and his group are very knowledgeable about Corvettes, very friendly and, very professional. There was great communication between us aand not one (not one!), deviation from the deal we made over 2 years ago. No, I am not on their payroll. I simply want to give credit where credit is due. Well done Gene and, thanks.
Now, on to the car. She is Blade Silver, Black interior, 3ZR with chrome. S/n 651. Pics will follow when I figure out how to do that.
Numerous negative comments have been posted about the ZR1 and, now that I have seen one and driven one, my comment to the naysayers is BULL. The ZR1 is a magnificent piece of engineering and technology.
I looked her over top to bottom, side to side. inside and out. Body seams and fit are perfect. Detailing is perfect. I have only 22 miles on her, and the ride and feel is quite different than my Z06. Very nice indeed.
The interior is very nice, as well. No complaints from me about the steering wheel, the dash or the seats. I even like the clear panel in the hood.
I am very pleased with the new addition to my family, and this car is great bang for the buck. I would do it again in a heartbeat

I to have one since December and it exceeds all expectations.. only have 600 miles on it but its all local driving........I have Cyber Grey but have a deposit on a 2010 Blade Silver ZR1 unless I like the Torch Red Better...Hope-- God Willing to see the new Red at the Birthday Bash....

Mine has been in the garage since Sept. That is when its not on the road being enjoyed. I respect everyones ideas of what to do with their ZR1 but I will also say that IMO you have to drive the beast to really enjoy it! Congratulations on your new ride and i'm happy it worked out for you with your dealer. If any other owners are going to be in Sebring on Sat. (3-21) , I'll have mine in the Corvette coral. I look forward to meeting some new friends.
Congratulations on a great decision. After you get a few miles on her, it would be great to get some commentary on the comparison between your Z06 and ZR1. I'm still trying to decide which to buy.
I have had both and there is no Comparison.....the only thing which is IMPORTANT is that today you could almost have 2 ZO'6 for one ZR1.......,,,You could defintely have a ZO6 and a Coupe..........In my mind wait for 2010 when the ZO6 gets the Magnetic Ride...Harvey
I just broke 500 Miles last weekend. I had her since Sept but, Chicagos weather hasn't been good. Enjoy and make sure you go to Spring Mountain Great time. Pics are easy let us know if you need help.
