Default 2009 1/2 ZR-1 Deliveries!!

OK boys (and girls if there are any reading this)....I'm kind of a lurker here, and am tired of all the gloom and doom in the world and politically charged threads!

Let’s try to find new life and excitement to talk about with these great cars like we did last August!! Let's just avoid the MSRP debates.

If I'm not mistaken, new ZR1s should be falling off the end of the production line again...Hence the 2009 1/2 OP Title. If so, let’s hear from who is getting one?? Has anyone been on the buyer’s tour since things started up again?? Let’s see some new delivery pictures. Heck, show me new pictures of 2008 produced cars and lie to me if you have too!!

I sold my C4 ZR-1 and fortunes appear to be turning for the better. Now I have a hole in the garage and I'm trying to convince myself to pull the trigger on one of these monsters. (Just don't tell my wife yet!!)

I would appreciate to hear from anyone with thoughts about where to shop for a real ZR allocation at a fair market price without a bunch of BS. Please pm me.
Any thoughts when 2010 color changes would be announced and is there any good information about 2010 interior and dash changes that were rumored??

Keep the dream alive and go buy a new Vette. We can't let this American Icon disappear.

Don't forget about the rumored extra 40hp the ZR1 is supposed to get for 2010 model too. Some sort of tweak was done. It's just a rumor.

I spoke with GM marketing today because the local dealers wouldn't tell me if the 2010 ZR1 would be released. GM confirmed that production will start in June. I also spoke to them about prices being way over sticker and they stated, although dealers set the price they would want a call from customers that are seeing numbers way over sticker because they would address it. I'll order my 2010 soon and WILL NOT pay over sticker. They will get back to me regarding options and colors

WOW!!! 680 factory horses would be over the top!! I can't believe the attorneys at GM have allowed 638...remember the early muscle car years when everything was under rated for insurance issues??

I've followed your BAD arse car for awhile...what all have you done for tweaks and what kind of gains have each of them netted??

I did the public plant tour last Tuesday and saw about 6 or 7 new ZR1's on the line. Victory Red, Black, Blue, and Cyber Gray were seen.

Our group was fortunate to see a ZR1 on the chassis dyno and the sound was awesome!

Also tried to find out info on the 2010 model, but no one was talking.

The official preview of the 2010 model Corvette will be next month during the NCM Bash April 25th. I'll be there with camera and post what I see and hear.

Heard strong rumors from reliable sources that Torch Red wll return in 010.

Anybody know what number they're up to. Heard Mario Andretti got #500. Also by the serial number can you tell the build date? Thanks, Bruce

the absolute weakest link in the gm food chain...
if gm can restructure their relationship with the dealers,i suspect sales would increase substantially.

Not sure about this, but from what I've read in this forum, there were about 610 cars shipped before they stalled production in December and another 60+ corporate test vehicles that most have since been sold to the public. Assuming production has restarted...I'd guess 700 total are on the road. It appears that there will only be about 1200 2009 ZR1s assuming not more bad news.

I would say if you are seriously thinking about it, you have the means. That being said, I wouldn't hold out for future possibilities and based on my experience and after initial trepidations based on the economy, I can honestly say I Love this car and (God forgive me) would just about sell my soul if I had to in order to get one. It's beyond description. I remember when I thought my 1988 Anniversary Vette was "Bad". Just had a 1993 collectible for the wife and although I love those cars, not even on the same planet.

Good luck my friend, press hard there's three copies.......

Default re how many built

I took the owners tour on 3/2/09 and my car came off the line that day-it's serial # is 622. I talked to two different people at the plant that day and they did say that torch red was a new color for 2010.

Default " TWEAKING " is not a rumor !

I'm shocked that all you pros think tweaking is a rumor . You can do it on 09s , A slight computer adjustment by a knowledgable tech and " BINGO " 40 more HP ! What is the real issue here is will you spend $ 400 -500 to get it done or will this become a " moan and groan " , I want it for free deal ?

Would Imperial Blue be offered on the ZR1?? JSB would probably be my current first choice and is a great looking car, but I prefer darker colors closer to Lemans Blue (My current '05 vert) or the frequently chosen Cyber Grey.

Coincidentally, I have an early 2SS/RS Camaro coming for my wife's B-day ordered with Imperial Blue and Silver Rally Stripes. Although it will be a month late getting here, at least the TPW is the same week as her birthday at the end of March. Yes....I did this to pave the way for a 2010 ZR1 this summer as I cant have all the new toys. A matching color 2010 ZR1 would be very cool!

Help!! I have bought all my new cars from an average sized local dealer, but he doubts they will ever get a ZR1 allocation. The nearest dealer that can get a car is about 300 miles away and is not trustworthy. Forum dealers appear to be sold out through the 2010 model year and I want to order a car so that I can do the buyer's tour also. (I did this with my vert in '05 when it was a free gift by the plant...really fun!!) Anybody with advise on finding an allocation from a reputable, no BS dealership, would be appreciated. .
