Is the splitter length and ground clearance a very big issue?

There is actually more clearence (vertically) on the ZR1 splitter than there is on the ZO6. Of course, the ZO6 is a plastic material (more durable and less expensive) therefore more forgiving.

No scrapes yet. Caught the Z06 a couple of times.

No problems as of yet. I just take it real slow over speed bumps and am extra careful when pulling into a parking space with a concrete barrier or curb.

I'm sure you'll find both stories listed here... both it is ok for them and both it is not ok. Lots of people have been hitting them on the curb parking at the convenience store, etc. It is all in how careful you are like others mentioned.

I have a Z06 and it is impossible to back out of the driveway without
scrapping the splitter. Will a ZR1 be the same or worse ? Is it possible to
replace the splitter on a ZR1 with a Z06 splitter ?

The angle of attack can make a difference...if I back straight out my driveway a stock Z06 splitter will scrape (car is lowered) but when I take it at an angle no scraping.

When I come across something like a big speed bump, I will be sure to take it at an angle, the sharper the better, getting one tire going up well before the other can make a big difference.

Hitting a parking curb is just plain careless, no reason for it to happen.

Cheers, Paul.

No issues with mine scraping. I can actually get out of the drivway without scraping like the 07 & 08's do!

Are you truly scrapping the front Z06 splitter, or are you simply scrapping the rubber/plastic thingy hanging right ahead of the front wheels (the parts you can only see when kneeling down)? If it's the former then wow, that's quite a steep driveway you got there!!!

Personally, the only time I scrappe my front Z06 splitter is when taking a very tight and steep downhill corner). It sure doesn't sound good when it happens!!!

Yes, it is the forward-most splitter. That is why I would want to replace the CF piece on a ZR1 with a plastic Z06 splitter. I plan to buy
a ZR1 in the future, and was wanting to know whether I could change the ZR1 splitter with the Z06 version.

Ehhhhhhh......I've had a few problems...Some from my own stupidity but I look at it another way......I'm just sharpening the undersisde of the splitter so it'll cut the air better........

Keep a few in stock for me Gene

Default How do I raise front of car and should I?

Glad that this is a topic, Had the C6 "plastic thing that is in three parts" and it had scrapes and so did the bottom of the bumper. Now I have had a OEM wide body Zo6 kit installed with OEM plastic splitter. So I do take care when going out of my drive way because if I don't it does scrape. Even when I drive my Limo it will bottom out if not careful. So I get the angle of taking each bump in the road. But just yesterday I noticed it scraping "from the sound" when driving on a road that had a few bumps & potholes. I put 19' front and 20' rear rims on could this be a factor of my car being lower? I did see on a post that someone had raised the front of their car how was that done and not sounding cheep but a ball park figure would be appreciated.
I will buy an extra splitter so I have on hand because at this rate I will need a stock pile of them. Funny enough I had taken sand paper the first time I had scraped it just was what came 2 mind. I enjoy driving my car and really don't want the feeling like it is a special sunday driver. Would be nice if it had the option on my S600 that will raise almost four inches when needed btw was a 9 grand option.
