Although there are those who disagree with me from time to time on this forum I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for the fact that each and everytime someone calls me for a certain automobile at whatever agreed upon price , I deliver ! Plain and simple . When any company ceases to make good on its promises its time for that compnay to close it's doors . Having said that I had a nice lunch salad at Tommy Bahamas with a Corvette engineer yesterday in Naples, Florida and he cannot comprehend why anyone would put aftermarket wheels on a ZR1 after he spent months testing the ones most suited for the work of art called a ZR1 .

Not sure about the where the first part of your post comes from but moving on to the second part.......
Unless of course, they thought those wheels were ugly!
Chrome dubs have no business on a sports car....if/when I find a ZR-1 at a price point I find acceptable, the first thing I'll do is trade them for a painted set(if mine is equipped with chrome).

I think chrome on the ZR1 looks ghetto. i have the painted wheels on mine. I'm debating to have them powered coated black.
I have seen some of the aftermarket wheels from some Forum Vendors that are far better looking than the stock wheels, but wheels are like shoes, everyone has their own taste, kind of like why there is more than one exterior color.
If Chrome is “ghetto” then the black rims are pure “ricer”. Some cars/colors look good in chrome while others do not; same thing goes for black rims. Personally I would not put black rims on a bright colored car, to me it looks dirty and trashy (most of the time). Just my opinion though.
Put whatever wheel you want on "YOUR" car and the heck with what anybody else thinks.
What is weird is the first part of his thread. Did anybody besides me think he was looking to plug his services/business.....without being a supporting vendor
Now ,now, I really thought that most of you being highly educated and successful Corvette owners would recall the earlier post by the guy with the avatar of prince complaining about folk sending money for wheels and then never getting them . I tried to post there but the thread was closed rather quickly . Not plugging anything . I am not a vendor on this board ( would not want or need the abuse at my age ) so allow me to re-phrase the opening paragraph . Whenever anyone offers anything for sale at any price they should be ready to deliver or promptly refund any good faith deposits . Also , please note that this wheel stuff was not my opinion , its the rant of a Corvette engineer with whom I shared lunch . If you were there with us to hear him talk , he describes all Corvettes as paintings , not to be messed with by counterfeiters . He also mentioned another 40 HP for the ZR1 thru a slight adjustment but thats a story for another day . Dont even ask , I'm sworn to secrecy .
The stock wheels may be an aesthetic hit but they are a functional failure.
Why in the world would a car with 638HP have a 20 inch rear tire? There is only 1 tire that you can get for the rim that I am aware of, a run flat PS2. Why not choose a size that will at least accommodate a tire capable of dealing with that much power?
