Default What's with big brother on this site?

I have noticed several threads locked lately. Some for no apparent reason.

Like one where I asked about the new administration having an affect on high horsepower cars. What is wrong with that? It's timely and relevant.

Yet other threads continue on that are absolutely ridiculous. Like ZR1 smokes a GTR. It's 500+ posts long and has turned into nothing more than a magazine spec fight between a couple members.

And of course if you say anything about a site sponsor, even if it's justified, it's yanked.

Is this a public or private site?

Before Big Brother just yanks this thread maybe you can explain your new philosophy so we can all post accordingly and enjoy the site.

Its a private site. It is privately owned and they have to right to do whatever they want.

It has always been a private site. Seems every now and then my posts just disappear for no good reason and I don't tend to be very inflammatory with my remarks.

I've belonged to many forums and by far, this is the most strict.

At times, it can be very frustrating - but I just try to brush it off because i would rather be a member than not.

If you feel the censorship is too strong - you always have the choice not to be here.

but yes, I agree with your comment and frustrations.

what happens is that its so strict, that a lot of times, the life goes out of it. What happens is you wind up getting the same topics being discussed over and over and over again. Eventually people drop out, out of shear boredom. Ask yourself if you are getting tired of hearing about which is the fastest color. Where you can get one at msrp, etc, etc. Plus god forbid if you show a female form. That would be criminal. Its like we have all moved to Iran.
