So has any one/company started modifiying the ZR1?
Hi everyone!
I'm new obviously, but have some questions. We have a new ZR1 at work that we are to design, manufacture and install a SEMA quality nitrous system for. We have a full CNC department to make whatever we need.
The owner of the car is heavily invested in our company, so he gets what he wants. Lol
We are a nitrous company (Speedtech Nitrous) but, we 98% of the time work with promodified nitrous cars.
I was wondering about blower pulley swaps, tuning and really anything performance oriented. If anyone can point me in that direction or give me any information as far as what kind of power the LS9 can handle or even some idea's, I would be greatly appreciative.
I'm NOT here to sell anything. I just don't really know much about the car other than what I have read online. Was told to come here so I did.
Thank you very much! Kelly
Thanks for the replies guys.
We have somewhat of a gameplan now. I think. Monday I am going to start pulling it apart to see if what we have in mind is even possible. I think it is, just going to take some creative thinking.
The owner made a bet with us, in which he is very serious. lol
If we can make this car faster than his GT2, then we can have the ZR1! His GTII is far from stock is my understanding. My boss has driven it and said it is on par with the ZR1 as of right now. Maybe a little faster. But the Porsche has nitrous as well, which was not used on my boss' test flight. So we don't exactly know what we are up against.
The owner of the cars is a sheik from the U.A.E.
He told us he didn't care about the money, he just liked fast cars! Pretty cool stuff.
Thanks again guys, and if anyone has any more suggestions, feel free to post them up!

Wow that sounds like fun. Nothing like no restrictions on money to get the creative juices flowing. Cant wait to see what you guys come up with. I dotn see a problem surpassing that GT2 with light mods if Im understanding this correctly.
Considering your experience with the zr1 I would suggest going to katech with an open checkbook. I would like to believe that the zr1 will be yours after they are done with it
Location: MIA/FTL/PBI/HSV Rockin South Florida like a hurricane!
If you are interested in REAL power (many of us WELL over 1,000 RWHP), then stop by the Forced Induction/Nitrous area... We'll be glad to help you make that car realize it's potential.
One could easily (I'd like to say "easily" again for emphasis) make that ZR1 lay down 750+ RWHP - enough to stomp that GT2...........

Tell the Shiek he can give me some of that 5 dollar a gallon diesel money back from last summer so I can pay for my ZR1.
No paint work, just ****ty lighting.
By the way, the battery in the car was completely dead when I went to open the hood. That was a PITA to get a battery charger on the starter in order to open the door.
That is what we read online to do anyway.
The sheik is out of highschool lol! In his late 20's I believe.
The truth from him about the gasoline situation in the US, is eye opening.
We pay roughly 90 cents a gallon for gas from them. The price from them hasn't changed in quite a while. The markups in fuel prices are from our government. My understanding is his family has the largest control of petroleum export to the US from their region. You can guess why he and his father are on the billionaires list.
If anyone is interested, look up Al Anabi racing. You will find out who he is. I think it's wrong of me to keep talking about them. Sorry guys!
I will keep you guys posted and certainly bring more questions as soon as I can.
I am suppose to start working on it some tomorrow. I run one of the CNC machines also, which takes priority over the car unfortunately.

I can see you guys are Corvette experts. To open the car when the battery is dead, insert the key in the lock located next to the license plate, next to the plate light. This opens the trunk. In the left side of the trunk there is a cable that releases the driver's door.
There are also handles between the doors and the seats (both sides) that will open the door without using electric power.
Hope your mods to this car go better than opening the doors with a dead battery.
