Any pics of the ZR1's underside here on the forum?

The headers look great. But as I read things (my brother just got his ZR1)--there goes the warranty and I don't think GM is kidding???

Does the ZR1 still have the big oil cooler in front of the radiator like the ZO6?

No - if memory serves correctly, starting in MY2009, GM relocated the oil cooler for both Z06 and ZR1 to where you see in the above photo. Someone please chime-in if I am wrong. I have an 06Z06.

I hope that isn't the case on the ZO6, how much can that cool the oil being in a location like that.

I also wouldn't like the headers that close to the oil cooler, I would think it may become a oil warmer from the heat of the headers.

That oil cooler looks similar to the one found on SRT-10 Vipers.

If it is the same, its a water-oil cooler, using the engine's coolant to cool the oil. Assuming its not positioned in the radiator's loop of the coolant system, this is a good thing because engine coolant heats up much faster than oil, so the "cooler" actually warms up the engine oil very quickly. Of course, once the oil is warm and the cooler is actually cooling, it also puts more loan on the cooling system.

It sounds like significant improvements have been made to the '09 cars. Its a shame they kept the single oil pickup in the "damp" sump oil pan.
