This beautiful car at Heitz Chevy in Norman just ended on Ebay at $136,300, reserve not met. Seems like the price of poker now probably around $25K over. That plant really needs to open back up.

GM needs to figure out how to sell the other 8,000 to 9,000 new vettes sitting on dealer lots. If that inventory doesn't start going down soon, you wonder what they will do - can't leave a plant closed indefinitely can you? Oh yeah, the workers get paid for a couple of years even though they are furloughed. My bad. But seriously, how about suppliers. If the closing keeps up, GM will no doubt lose suppliers. Really do wish the could make only ZR1's - in a few months, you definitely would get better pricing.

If and when BG opens again, GM needs to maximize ZR1 production to the extent that the supply chain will allow. It's the one model that dealers can move off their lots with the right market price. For us the buyers, that market price will be lower than what it has been. Win-win for everyone.

I can tell you this-- The Plant will NOT make up the lost Production of the ZR1 when it opens in March...The schedule now has the Lost Production of the ZR1s to be made up in the 2010 Year Production of the ZR1.....The turn around for 2010 Production of the entire Corvette Line to commence is still up in air...One Personal Observation and this is MY Feeling only...."will the Strings attached to the Loan to GM prevent it from Producing ANY Cars that have to have the Gas Guzzler Tax"???????? I wonder.....Harvey

Well, except for the dealers. But we all know they are *all* a bunch of greedy, evil idiots who shouldn't be allowed to take part in a free market economy. Of course, that doesn't include the times when the supply/demand dictates selling cars for below invoice. They can jump right on in then.
