Just wondering if I drop one of these in my Z? If it will beat all around a ZR1 as far as track performance both drag and road race. Is this even the same engine as my Z or is it just some off thing that would not fit and hook right up?

Why would a Z06 with this beat a ZR1? Still less hp. Weight? No, because with an extra 125 hp you'll have to beef up the cooling system and driveline and you still won't have the bigger tires, wheels, brakes and magnetic suspension.
I think being a N/A engine it would be really quick compare to a Huffer? I bet that engine co could get it up to 650, no problem. At that point it would be a very interesting comparison considering how much would be left in the budget for brakes etc.
The Z is lighter especially the 06 year which I have. I could mothball my original engine with 8000 miles on it and go have some fun for far less cost that a ZR1. Plus not turn my head the other way when matched up against one. By magazine stats they are so close already that this engine even at 630 would hopefully stomp the ZR1. But not sure.

In a straight line, until it breaks. But then you could do that with a Civic.

y would a z not be more comparable to a zr1 than a honda civic? i mean i don't even get the where your coming from cause the z and the zr1 are almost alike in 90% or more of the way. also according to corvette quarterly's own numbers the z is only slightly off any times for any event compared to the zr1. so i would think that with a little na hp the z would at least match anything the zr1 could do. but a honda come on, recognize the z for what it is "a restricted version of a zr1"...
think Biscayne vs Impala SS - fancy stuff don't make it faster or better.

Find a ZR1, this setup doesn't give you all the benefits and will only result in a hassle getting it done and dealing with it going forward. Just my .02.

The "fancy stuff" on the zr1 does make it faster and better. 90% the same? Not where it counts. Different brakes, shocks, tires, engine, trans, rear etc... recognize what the zr1 is.
According my experience,
NA engine have to hold powerband or you wont beat forced induction one in acceleration.
In the case of close hp,
usually(about70%) forced induction one would wins, because of torque.
For example,
if Zonda C12F runs quater-mile race with moded MB E55K,who will wins?
Both of their rwhp are closed 600,but there's is more 15kgm torque to E55K.
10 times race,55K wins 8 times.
If both cars are within 50HP of each other it will be hard to tell which one is faster. Plus or minus 50hp is nothing on a road course or twisting highway for that matter, the suspension and breaks are close enough as well. You put Michael Schumacher in a prius and me in a ZR1 on a road course and I will loose every time! 20 or 30HP is very little difference in straight line as well. The bottom line here is neither car will get "stomped" with equal drivers, but a weak driver will get stomped everytime. I hate to see someone post will this or that mod smoke another car because it picked up 100HP, way to many variables.
Corvette C6 Z06 runs 7:43 at the Ring <just better tires and what?>
Corvette C6 R1 runs 7:26 at the Ring
--------
GT-R drops 'Ring time down to 7:29
Dodge Viper ACR runs 7:22 at the Ring
Viper ACR first two laps-a 7:42 and a 7:35
--------
Also I think there has never been a ZR1 beat the Z06 1/4 mile times as posted by members here with the Z?
Just put Viper or ZR1 tires on a Z and I bet the Z would be allot better. My tires have no grip at all they are really like a fork lift tire on a slick concrete warehouse floor.
