Default Why?

Why is there no storage compartment in back like in the ZO6? This the only complaint I have about the ZR1.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe the battery has been relocated back where one of the compartments were.

The Z06 has the battery in back right compartment as well.

Battery on right.

On left, I have heard people speculate the following:

1) Onstar module has been relocated there due to the power passenger seat.

2) Magnetic ride computer may be located there

3) Just because.

I've never really cared enough to get on my back and try to look underneath or to pull up the carpet. Whatever the reason, that compartment is gone.

cheers!

hey guys. First post. I work at a dealership and came across this question. Let's see if I can help. On a coupe, the battery is under the hood on the pass. side, on a Z06 and ZR1 the oil sump resides there, so the battery is moved to the rear pass. side(helps with weight bias also). I talked with a tech, and he believes that electronics are housed for the MRC (magnetic ride) in the rear. We have a ZR1 in stock and when we are completely open and I'm able to break away from the floor, I will go poke my head in it.

I believe the left side is where the module and wiring for the fuel pump system has been placed
