Default Dealers are scrambling to sell ZR1's

[/IMG]

Looks like dealers are finally backing down on pricing. Looked at 2 in the past 2 days at $10,000 Over, had 5 calls today from 3 states as well.

Holding out for $5,000 over And this will be a 5K gift to a GM

READY at $5,000 over..RIGHT NOW.

No he's not. In fact we are all losing. Your vision is totally myopic. The only reason pricing is falling like a stone is because things really suck financially.

So, enjoy your winning. But don't complain when the resale price goes into the toilet.

Personally, I would have preferred waiting a year or two as we did with the Z06 when things were good.

I'm trying to help you out with that black one at Jon Hall Chebie!!

I was over there the other day for a part and a sales guy told me I needed to trade my '06 Z06 in for an new one. I told him the only Z I needed was a ZR1 and he took me over to look at that black one.

He told me to make an offer to the sales manager and I told him the only offer I'd make would be MSRP, and he said "well, they're going for $20K to $25K over MSRP right now".

Yesterday another sales guy (manager??) called and asked if I was interested in making an offer. When I told him "yes, I'll come down and write you a check right now for MSRP" the call was quickly over.

So....I'm doing my best to help you out if you'll pay over MSRP, because I won't!!!

Bob

you do realize that GM has already received their money for the car....the $5K over and any other monies over invoice goes to the dealership....

In addition, for every sale the dealer makes on a car, GM give the dealer a "hold back" money typically 3-5% of the price of the car. That is why the dealer can sell below invoice sometimes and still make a profit.

They suck!! No customer loyalty..I bought 3 Z06's from them, including RFZ#167. Did you know that the Mayor of Daytona own's the place
He is paying cash for the new building..Did you notice how terribly filthy the Corvettes are looking

Jessie Adams is a great guy over there..he is caught in the middle

The ONLY auction results that count are the ones that are SOLD. Lowball bids don't mean a darn thing.

Actually, they are "somewhat" paid for...

GMAC (or any other loan institution) holds the paper on the car when it hits the lot. The dealer pays a nominal interest fee monthly for the "floor plan".

When the car sells, the new paper is sent to the original holder of the note, and any "profit" over what the dealer "owes" is credited back to the dealer.

Then, GM sends them the hold-back.

These guys don't have the cash to tie up in millions of dollars in inventory...well, maybe Roger Penske does .

I'm sure it's only at $144,900 because of active shill bidding being done by dealer cronies.......let's see of the same car is for sale again next week.
