Dear Corvette Enthusiest,
Whitmoyer Chevrolet, Lancaster county’s #1 Corvette dealer, would like to invite you and your club members to a once in a life-time event. Whitmoyer Chevy is receiving one of the only 2009 ZR1’s in the central Pennsylvania area. We will be hosting a ZR1 preview night in the coming days with refreshments and several other new Corvettes on display. Please don’t pass up this opportunity to see one of the most anticipated and extremely rare super cars of the year.
I, Matt Beaver, will be keeping everyone posted as to the exact date and time for the event. I apologize for the short notice. The new owner is very excited to pick up the car, and is being gracious enough to allow us the chance to offer this exceptional experience to the local Corvette community. This event is an opportunity for Corvette lovers to get together, socialize, and see this unique vehicle. Please keep the up-coming days open so you don’t miss this great once in a life-time chance to see this vehicle up close and in person.
Please pass this along to your club members also.
Thank you
I’ll Be In Touch,
Matthew Beaver
P.S. Feel free to bring your Corvette (weather permitting of course)
When Reliable Chevrolet got their first ZR1, they had it on display for a week or so before the buyer(local) picked it up. Our club, the Vintage Vettes of the ozarks had a large display of vettes, 58 thru 09, plus a fair number of vettes belonging to non members. It was held on a Sunday Afternoon, and had a great turnout.
Tonight, I visited Whitmoyers Chevrolet to see the sold ZR1 and meet some fellow Vette owners. Well, I saw the car but there was only one other Vette guy who showed up. To be fair, it was a rainy December, Thursday evening.
Talked to the salesman and learned that the car should be picked up Friday afternoon, provided the weather cooperates. The owner placed deposit on the car back in June and Whitmoyers bought the allocation from Maxie Price. The owner paid well above MSRP. The salesman sounded very well informed real car enthusiast without a chip on his shoulder.
The car is Cyber Gray with chrome wheels. Right behind the ZR1 was a Cyber Gray 2LZ Z06 with Competition Gray wheels for less than half the price. I had no problem explaining the $20K difference between the C6 Z06 and a C6 Z51 to my wife. (She did not like the plain C6 but liked the Z06). I had extreme difficulty explaining the $70K difference between the ZR1 and the Z06! Both have the same shape (nice bulging fenders).
(Me) - "But Honey, this one goes over 200MPH."
(Her) - "For twice the money?"
(Me) - "It has 638HP"
(Her) - "It looks the same to me except that engine window"
(Me) - "It has Carbon Ceramic Ferrari brakes"
(Her) - "and a Gas Guzzler tax"
and I knew it's time to quit.
I'm sure one test drive would change her mind. Maybe not hers, but mine definitely.
I stopped by Whitmoyer Chevy on friday morning while my tahoe was being serviced and snapped a few pictures of the ZR1 there, The vehicle was amazing!!!!!!
While I was there I talked to Matt (the salesman who sold the ZR1) what a great guy, he reallys knows his stuff. I have him looking for a 09 Artic white vert for me.
