505 at the rear wheels for the ZR1. Yeah right. 3.8 to 60. You have to be kidding.

Two different classes, you can't possibly compare fairly a 638HP car and a 480HP car, the ZO6 is closer to the comparo than the ZR-1

Well Nissan fans were comparing the GTR to the GT2 and CGT at one stage. They even named the GTR as a baby Veyron.

So what ever happened to the fast GTR? I guess Nissan ran out of ringers for people to test.

I would say bringing a BB Gun to a gun fight is probably a closer analogy, I mean after all, they both have four tires

OMG, I just got through waiting for the whole video to download and that is fantastic! The ZR1 through the slalom was fantastic, I had to watch that segment a number of times, but doing burnouts running circles around the GTR at the end was just too awesome! I think I will go eat some rice now....

Thats not apples to apples. I would like to see the same test with a ZO6. That would be more in line. Let us remember this is the FIRST year the Nissan released this platform.

ZR-1: 638, 505 whp. 133/638 = 20.8% loss (wow)

GTR: 480, 406 whp 74/480 = 15.4% loss

The ZR-1 is a great car, it would bury the ZO6 also in that same test.

In-fact the ZO6 would not do as well as the GTR in that same test.

Where are you getting that 505rwhp number from? My dyno typically reads a little low (Being AWD) and a bone-stock car put down 556rwhp here:

I haven't followed the ZR1 dyno threads 100% but I am pretty sure most of the cars typically put down 560-57x rwhp stock.

From what I've read here and on other sites, that is about right. The driveline loss for the ZR-1 has usually been calculated at 13% to 14%.

I'm getting the number from post #1 on this thread. Did you listen to the video? It clearly states 505 whp.

actually not. The C5Z is closer to comparison to the GT-R, yet the C5Z is still faster in un bias real non magazine races.

Oh come on! No C5 stock will hang with the GTR. What did the C5 ZO6 have at the flywheel? 405? so that would be about 340 at the wheels. Please come on. The ZR-1 is the car, but saying the GTR is closer to the C5 ZO6 than the reg C6 ZO6 is nuts.

The GTR is in line with a C6 ZO6, and only if the Corvette driver knows what he's doing.

As for the ZR1, we can only wait for the V-Spec to compare fairly.

You sounds just like the fools on youtube. I know for a fact that a Z06 is tons faster than a GTR. PM me if you want...

A C5 Z06 runs the quarter mile in the same fashion as the GTR. A C5 Z06 is no slouch on a road course either.... thus, that statement has some validity.

A C6 Z06 is faster than a GTR.... please understand this. The GTR, with all of its tech can handle but all in all, its not faster than a Z06... even with crap runflats. I have seen this firsthand.

Also, GTR's are putting down closer to 430awhp than 400awhp. That puts those crank numbers OVER the 510hp range. Be realistic here.... find me another AWD car that yields a 15%, or even a nissan claimed 10% drivetrain loss and i'll eat crow. They are closer to 20% than 17%.

Thus, at 500hp+, the GTR does very well for it, but still not a heavenly as some people make it out to be.

I agree that the Z06 and the GTR is a closer review than a ZR1 on price ALONE, but in the real world, the GTR is not faster than a Z06.

Link whatever you want and state whatever facts you found on the internet.... i have raced a few already in different types of conditions and it is NOT faster.

On the street the Z06 will romp all over the GTR. Straightline the GTR has no chance stock to stock.....On the roadcourse, however, every "head to head" test Ive read between the two has the GTR on top by a second or two over the Z06....The ZR1 is in another league....Im actually not surprised the 3900lb GTR only lost by only 1+ second on the Streets...Had it been Big Willow I think the margin would have been several seconds beatdown on the GTR....

Streets of Willow is were most of the GTR head to head tests seem to be done. Its a smaller AWD friendly course that lets the GTR shine...Wouldnt be surprised if Nissan chose SoW for most of these tests against the big dogs...Bigger track like VIR or BW it would get raped like the beatdown it got by the ACR...7+ seconds lol...GTR is a formidable car and its proven its worth against much more expensive machinery but some cars it just shouldnt be seriously be pitted against....ACR/ZR1 are two that come to mind.....

GTR reminds me of a boxer that steps up in weight and has good skills and beats a few contenders in that weight class. But then steps up to the title fight against the elite of that class and gets annihilated.....
