Default ZR1 Boost Adustability

I thought this might be the proper forum to inquire. Now that it is confirmed that the boost is limited by a valve which is controlled by the computer, do any of the tuners have the ability as of yet to make changes in this area? (Example) Change the factory set max of 10.5psi to anything else.

Their is some truth to this, but at he same time, the mechanical aspects of the blower still need to be changed to get a large increase, ala pulley, this is from my research.

There is a bypass on the eaton, and yes there is a table in the computer, which we should be able to modulate, and move the power curve around a little bit. The bypass valve does not act like a boost controller, so we cant just add a bunch more but we can make change the curve some.

So, Blue Devil 1...you are now finding that 205 mph and 0 to 100 in about 7 seconds isn't enough??? You want to go faster...is that it?

I have a solution...ship that baby to Katech and tell them you want at least 100 more horsepower. I believe they now have the tuning/timing programs, cold air intake, and probably water-injection...and raise the rev limiter by 400 rpm...likely see 220 mph...

Oh, and that drivers school at Spring Mountain you are going to take...If your car gets any faster, you're going to have to go to Top Gun (Miramar) School for jet fighter training...

Sheesh...638 horsepower...and it's not enough...You're a heck of a driver...and I'm happy for you

Default More boost

It's not a function of not enough power. Have you ever heard the expression," Inquiring minds want to know". I think we are all aware or think that GM must have left quite a bit (HP-Torque) on the table in order to market the ZR1 with a 100,000 mile warantee. As we all learn more about the LS9 motor, it seems there are more questions to be asked.

It's like the Bill Cosby routine from the 1960's. Cosby had Carroll Shelby build him a car and then put a plaque on the dashboard that said:
"This car will go 188MPH and is faster than ANYTHING Steve McQueen owns!"

Yanno Hunter?.......it pretty much sucks when you flame some one for asking a valid question. I thought that this is what this forum was sposed to be about.......to help each other and provide information. It seams, more and more, I find replies to questions posted on here with attitudes that just don't belong...You most not have gotten any last night.............(sleep that is).

Actually I thought it was more a rib, than a flame. Poking a little fun at someone is okay in my opinion. Especially about horsepower!

Give it time, its just like when the Gen III motors first came out it took time for people/tuners to learn the new motor. People said it couldn't do this/that and blew alot of those "know it alls" out the water when it proved them wrong.

Ain't it so. Maybe someone could weigh in with the Moose routine by Woody Allen. The one that starts with: "I shot a moose...."
