Default With ZR1 production slowed, why are spoilers, etc. not available?

Since everyone knows that the production schedule of the ZR1 has been slowed down (along with all other models), would it not seem logical that the front spoilers and side skirts would be available to purchase from GM?

It has been stated that the supplier (Plasan) could produce enough spoliers, etc. to keep up with the original production schedule of eight ZR1s per day, I would think that there would be a surplus of these parts accumulating somewhere now that the ZR1 production has been reduced.

Anybody have any ideas about this?

Well, it seems that things are a little different then you portray. Gene Culley has the following ZR1 items in stock. Hood @ $3795, Roof Panel @ $2232.99, Roof Halo @ $1388.11 and the rear Spoiler @ $411.74. At this time the front Splitter and the rocker Panels are not available. He also has the body panels available as a kit.

In addition, RPI has the ZR1 rear spoilers available painted.

My point exactly. If GM is making 5 less ZR1s per week, then there should be a surplus of front spoilers and side skirts available. Am I missing something?

I don't think that I have misportrayed anything. My original post referred specifically to the front chin spoiler and side skirts, which are not available. This has nothing to do with the other ZR1 parts that are available from Gene.

After re-reading my post, it's obvious that it shouldn't have been worded the way it was. Seems everything is available except the front splitter and the rocker panels. Possible that GM isn't offering those two items for sale because they are the two items that will most likely be damaged in normal driving and will require replacing on a more frequent basis. Think of how pissed you would be if you had a new ZR1 and damaged the front splitter on a curb stop and the rocker panel on a speed bump and when you went to your dealer to purchase a replacement part, was told that none are available because GM sold them all to non ZR1 owners wanting to upgrade the appearance of their Z06.

It's all good, and your point about the replacement parts for ZR1 owners is completely valid.

Does it really take that long to make front spliters and a rocker panel? They company can't make more than 7 a day?

Capacity relates to tooling. If GM was restricted (financially) to the amount of tooling they could buy, then capacity is limited.

Yeah I don't know what the deal is with the splitter or side skirts. None have been available for purchase to this moment... even for damaged ZR1's.
