Fake Z06
Near my place of work (Bronx, NY) there is a store owner here that has a 2006 C6 with Z06 emblems. The regular C6 is a beautiful car so I see no reason to be a poser (particularly here in the Bronx) when you have a nicer car than 99% of the local population. The sad thing is, is that most local people in my area do not really know the technical difference but some do know that the Z06 is the more expensive model. How do you guys feel about this. Personal feeling is but I would love to hear your feelings on the matter.

I think the badges even on a C6 with widebody conversion and more power and suspension than the Z06 is still a poser.
I don't however have an issue with a C6 with more power than a Z06 having a widebody but with NO badges.

I really could care less what they do to their own car. The fact is 90% of the people don't even know what a Z06 is. The guy only looks like a tool to the 10% that truely know what a Z06 is. Everybody else still thinks "it's a Corvette"

I'm putting ZR1 badges on my Z06 next week... any one care?
Not really I actually like to debage my cars.

I once saw an original '69 Camaro Z28 ( I've owned two completely stock authenticated such cars ) that had a powerglide trans on the column and drum brakes all around. But it had the hood and all the badges by golly and the 307 V8 was dressed up to resemble a 302.
The car was actually for sale. This was years ago. I think it's a shame that the C6 body panels are so easy to swap from base to Z06 style.
I don't like mods anyway as a rule but making a Z06 clone is nasty IMO.
But like someone said, most people don't know the diff and don't care either.
Wait a few months and we'll be seeing ZR1 front splitters, hoods, body panels and emblems. The hood might take some time with the window and all.....and then there will have to be a modded engine cover to look like the ZR1s so it will show through the hood window.
I can envision even the fake Z51 badges changing to be more like ZR1 style than Z06 format.
I like the widebody look better than the base C6 look BUT adding Z06 badging is a bad thing IMO.
