Default ZR1 to Have LS7 Block

I was at The Performance World car Show Yesterday and saw a vender with various LS Blocks including LS7. I was interested in finding out why the LS7 according to GM was not strong enough for FI. The Liners did look like they had enough "meat" but maye where the cylinders are side by side the meat is alittle less but I don't think this would be a big factor. Anyways in talking with the vender he said that the 3rd year of ZR1 production was going to include the LS7 427 Block. He said GM always wants to make various changes for each year. Has anyone else heard of this, or is it just smoke. We Haven't even had the First retail ZR1 off the line yet and already their is 3rd year changes - ya right.

Talk has been it's a 2 year car.

I doubt it would have that radical an engine change even if it was extended.

Nowhere have I seen 3rd year from a Chevy press release.

Sounds like BS to me.

Highly doubt it. GM Performance Parts catalog list the LS7 block has having a max hp rating of 550. Doubt they'd be going down in hp in an engine upgrade.

They're planning 2000 per year for the remainder of the C6 production, at least four more years. This has been reported by several automotive magazines.

Tom Wallace said himself at the reveal in Detroit, "two maybe three years, it hasn't been decided yet"

So GM would change blocks the 3rd year "just because they want to make various changes"? Yeah right.

Sounds like the vendor just blowing BS up your skirt trying to puff his own inventory.

I agree with Kent1999 about the 3rd year thing.
