Default New steering wheel in all '06 Vettes? (per GM Z06 release?)

This could just be my interpretation of what was in the recent GM release about the Z06, but it seems to indicate that the new steering wheel is not unique to the Z06, rather it is standard on all '06 Vettes.

"The Z06 also has a revised gauge cluster that displays the Z06 logo on the 7000-redline tachometer and has a new readout on the oil pressure gauge to reflect the higher standard pressure of the dry-sump oiling system. And, like other 2006 Corvettes, the Z06 has a new, smaller-diameter three-spoke steering wheel that provides a more agile, performance-oriented feel. "

Any thoughts?

Yeah. Now they're getting rid of the unique 4-spoke in favor of a parts-bin 3-spoke. Neat.

I like the looks of the new 3-spoke steering wheel.

I'm sure that there will be many 05 owners that will trade for the 3 spoke

The 3 spoke wheel is much better looking and has a higher quality look than the 4 spoke wheel the car currently has in it.

I've been informed that this would be "rice."

I don't agree, it's just what I've been told.

Installing a steering wheel that is better to handle at the track and still appears stock is considered rice? I don't think so!

Personally don't care for the C5 wheel.... do like the looks of new 3 spoke. But, will reserve judgement til behind the wheel of one at autoshow.

They better let me sit in one !!! At the Chicago show they have let us inside car in past years.

I agree with you. But I've been informed that taking a part from a year/sub-model of Corvette different from your own, even if it in no way serves to fool someone into believing you have something you don't, is rice.

Please inform this noob that rice is an unattractive modification that in no way improves performance. Examples: nipple lights, big wing on the rear of a FWD car, stock 1" exhaust with a 5" tip, a body kit that adds 100 lbs and directs more air under the hood…
