Modded Z06 7:33 Nurburgring lap
What a machine. Walked down 911s like they were Jettas. Granted we've all seen vids like this a zillion times, but this is pretty cool C6 stuff.
Guy had those tires absolutely begging for mercy. And 7,000rpm at 235/kph on the straight @ 1:35 is easily one of the greatest sounds ever heard by man.

Dang! He was passing cars at will. I cringed whenever he came up on another car, thinking somebody is going to make a mistake! 427 making awesome power

Looked to me like about 88% of the run was in 3rd and 4th gears. He had to drop down into 2nd a couple or three times for the super tight turns, one of which was peppered with slower traffic, redlined 4th and had to jump into 5th for a few of the wide-open sections.
I have a buddy who used to track his ZL1 Camero at Pike Peak International Raceway (our local track) and said a new set of tires was good for four track days. Pushing that hard, I really wonder how quickly that car goes thru a set of rubber.

Swedish guy and a very good driver, he have a speedshop also and some racing experience if i remember correct, i have done 16 laps on the Nurburgring and that video just scares me to a close to death experience, it is a dangerous track to drive if you push it.

One thing I've never understood is why the 12 o'clock centerline on the steering wheel? I've never done track time so maybe this is an overtly stupid newb question, but having that there never really seemed to make much sense to me.

and may help you recover from the pendulum effect of a 'tank slapper' by giving an idea of which way the front wheels are actually pointing 😊

With all due respect to owner and driver of the car in that video, way back in 2011 a stock 2012 Z06/Z07 did the NR in 7:22.68 and reached 171 MPH on that long straight. Back then, GM released video of that lap and it's pretty freakin' amazing.
At this point in time, I'm not sure where you'd find that Chevrolet video. I have a copy but it's a huge 731-mb file and I'm not sure I could post it here.
While I only watched the video posted by the OP one time, maybe I missed something but that car didn't run a full lap so I'm curious how the OP derived the 7:33 time. When he had to lift at the end, the time was at 7:57. If we subtract the six seconds at the beginning before he went WOT then passed the red BMW, the time would be 7:51, but still...the fact remains the lap wasn't complete.
Update: I texted a pal of mine who knows about that footage and he says it's on YouTube at:
