Does the 7.0L Z06 have a different exhaust note than the 6.2L ZR1
I was driving with my buddy who has a ZR1 last night and I kinda noticed that his exhaust note was a little raspier and higher pitch sounding than my Z06. We’re both running very similar exhaust setups. He has 2010 ZR1 with 1 7/8 ARH headers, x pipe, to a akropovic axelback with the valves cut open. I have a 2009 Z06 with 2” Kooks headers and a x pipe to a no valve Borla Atak exhaust. So pretty similar setups. I’m just curious would an engine with a higher displacement have a deeper tone even if it is the difference of .8L’s?

Your two set's ups aren't pretty similar at all, so of course the vehicles will sound different from one another.

The Akropovic & Borla systems are completely different

Not really related to engine size, but is related to boost pressure, which turns into exhaust velocity and different sound. IMO

There is a huge difference in sound, firstly, X pipe in the ZR1 vs H pipe in the Z06, muffler differences until later years, and then the natural engine sound difference because different engine. The ZR1 just sounds demonic.
