Carbotech AX6 pads for street use
Looking for a single piece brake pad front and rear for the Z06 that most closely replicates the performance of the OEM padlets. I'm looking at the Carbotech AX6 pads and was wondering if anyone has any experience and feedback for these pads. 90% will be street use with the rare Auto X or even HPDE event.
How do these pads compare to OEM? My take from online research is there are slightly better than OEM for performance. Any feedback on how long they will last based on planned usage, 10k, 20k? Will they chew up OEM rotors and dust like the OEM padlets?
Thanks.

They could be and it's a good thought. But I wouldn't plan to use them for HPDE. Unless it's something like parade laps or driving slow. I've tried leaving Z06 pads and they were awful for HPDE and I would think the AX6 compound would be too.

I have them in my Z06 that’s mainly street driven and used on mountain/canyon roads. Pads are great for spirited drives but leave tons of brake dust. They’re also pretty noisy under normal braking and need some temp in them to get a good bite. Looking back I would get the street pads and be just as happy with less dust and less noise. If you want to do some track driving I’d have a set of XP series to swap when on the track.

One of the advantages of the Carbotech pads is the compounds are compatible across the line so you don't have extensive rotor cleaning between swapping pads street to track and back. The 1521 Bobcat street pads are low dust. The have varying pad compounds for the track. Amp'd Adam will probably chime in, he is a very helpful forum vendor here.

The emphasis being on street driving here the vast majority of the time and without any interest in swapping pads if I actually do an Auto X or an HPDE are the 1521s the recommended pad? How do they perform compared to the original factory Ferodos?

I got 30K plus on my front 1521s before I changed the front calipers to Wilwood and the pads still had good wear, rears 50K+ miles half worn. They dust way less than OEM and stop equal to or better than OEM. Adam let you know using them for autoX is OK but for track only 2-3 laps at 50% so they are NOT TRACK PADS.
I found the OEM C6Z pads stopped safely on the track but only lasted about 1 1/2 hours of track time and while safe, did not stop like tract pads.
