Brandnew michelin as4 zp death wobble
Just wrapped all my stock wheels in brandnew AS4 ZPs. Death wobble like crazy under WOT. It's horrendous. Is there a key to air pressure or just run flats aren't for every ZR1? Cars aligned. Steering wheel had zero vibration cruising or even whole wobbling. Can't wrap my head around this. Why does it disappear with my drag set up. Thanks

Death Wobble has been a thing with Michelin Pilot tires for many, many years. It is not a tire balance or wobble issue. You might try switching to Goodyear Supercar 3 tires to cure the issue. Alternatively, you might try changing the rear wheel toe links for new parts to correct the issue.

Is that the Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 ZP's? If so, I have these exact same tires on my Grand Sport and they have been rock solid. And I am at a supercharged 560 wheel HP.
Are your rear control arm links in good condition?
And definitely check the balance of the tires also as not all shops balance tires properly. In my experience, the Discount Tire that use does an excellent job with balancing.

I've had multiple sets of Michelin ZPs on my last 4 Corvettes, and none of them had death wobble (very familiar with what it is as I had it on some E/T Street SS I ran as a 2nd set of rears). I've not used the AS4 yet, but I have the A/S 3+ on my street wheels for the ZR1, and they are great. I'd suggest checking how much weight they had to add, if it's excessive on a specific wheel (or multiple wheels) take it back and have them demount the tire, rotate it 90 degrees on the wheel and try again. It could also just be that you have a defective tire.
And going to non-ZP will not make a difference, plenty of feedback from people who've done both and noted that with modern Michelin ZP tires, there's no difference for ride/noise between them. Only reason going non-ZP would fix it would be that you'd be replacing a possibly defective tire with a new set.

I also have had multiple Michelin ZP's on both my 'vettes for the past 11 years and have not ever experienced the death wobble. I would make sure the wheels/tires are properly balanced or you have a defective tire.

I have Pilot Super Sport ZPs on mine. Smooth as glass for the most part. Hooks in 1st and 2nd depending on conditions. The carbon brakes sometimes make themselves known. Next to no road noise, luxury car levels to be honest. And I have a Fiat 500 Abarth with Pilot Sport All Season 4, they’ve been great.

I have these exact RF tires in 285/30/19 and 335/25/20 on my Z06, and have run well in excess of 180+ MPH on them.....rock solid.

I totally agree it is a bad tire. Michelin is not always interested in replacing the tire/tires. In my case the tire dealer said that my tires had been used for racing purposes. This was completely untrue. The truth is that my tires were used for HPDE on a track in a non-racing environment. What was I supposed to do, find this flaw, which is 100 % obvious at 120-140 mph on the city streets? No < I discovered the defect on track. When the manufacturer puts a Z speed rating on a tire, he should not object when his product is tested.

Death Wobble
A good friend just had the "death wobble" on his 2008 Z06 "corrected" by replacing the rear tie rod ends with new ones and realigning. His Z06 probably had less than 40k miles on it. This is a potential chicken and egg situation. Was the death wobble really corrected, or was the death wobble really caused by his MPS4s tires? Time will tell.

I've seen this before but very infrequently, but michelin backs up their product like said above and will replace. They usually ask for the tires according g to members post to research the issue.

I had the same issue happen with my pp's.
mine would wobble @ 145MPH+. Definitely NOT a desired trait. Almost caused me to crash a few times.
I see you have a drag pack and a daily drive set yes?
Try a Hankook ventus v12 as a daily. I drove across country with mine and have hit speeds of 165 with them.
