Current Value Of Low Mile 2011 / 2012 ZR1
Hi All
I'm looking to get an idea of the current realistic value of 2011 / 2012 ZR1. I've started looking to acquire a low mileage well cared for example and the asking prices are all over the map. 3ZR cars below 2500 miles are listed between low 90's to over 140s. Increase the mileage to 5000 and the price seems to become more stable in the 70s and 80s. I do realize that certain factors make certain cars more valuable such as # of owners, documentation, color, etc. I also realize that prices of all used vehicles are way up and will remain high until the supply and demand issue calms down.
What are your thoughts?

09-10 will be cheaper. 12-13 low mileage are stupid high. To me it’s the same car. Under 10k on any zr1 you will not get it for less than 80k. Factor in the rare colors JSB, add another 5-10k. If you can deal with a one owner 30 k car, those will be cheaper.
Market is what it is

get one between 5-15K miles ( price should be between 80-90K) unless you plan on storing it and not driving it. The market is cray right now and I dont see it getting better. Ive been offered over 80K for my CE ZR1 (21K miles) 3 times so far and had no problem getting my insurance company to give me an agreed upon value of 85K.

All. Thanks for your thoughts
Although I will drive it, I prefer to buy a car with very low miles.
I’m seeing a Black / Black 2011 1300 mile 3ZR at a dealer in AZ for $95, which Im guessing can be bought for $90, this does not seem unreasonable. There is a white / black 2012 1600 mile 3ZR being offered by original owner in the Mid Atlantic for $145, which seems high. A dealer in the midwest has a 2011 red / black 3ZR with 315 miles, asking $134.
The Hagerty value estimator is listing top price for a #1 2012 concours condition ZR1 at $117 (up 53% in last year) and a 2012 #2 Excellent condition ZR1 at $86.6 (up 33% in last year). Im not seeing where the $145 and $134 asking prices are coming from, except anyone can ask any price on any given day for anything they own.
Although I am a cash buyer and generally keep my cars a long time, Im wondering what effect the steep interest rate rise and market tanking at the same will have on these values. I don't want to buy at a top price and have it crater.

A quick check on Auto Trader shows they are running $75-$95K with miles and years varying. Of course the older higher mileage ones are bringing less and miles are a big factor. The car market right now is crazy, not ever seen it like this in 30 years. If you really want one then I would say buy it now; no telling what will happen. The economy is poised to go south, badly, this could be a factor in the coming months. An alternate strategy could be to wait through this summer (prices are always higher in summer) and we could very well be in a recession by the Fall going into winter, this could present an excellent opportunity to pick up a good buy at a lower price if one is a cash buyer. Trust that is positive enough?

Recent results from Mecum auctions:
Indy (mid May):
'13 60th anniversary ZR1 34 miles: $75,900
'09 black 688 miles: $112,750
'09 gray 2,282 miles: $115,500
'09 black 8,502 miles: $77,000
Houston (end of March):
'11 Supersonic blue 1,425 miles: $95,000
Glendale (mid March):
'12 Centennial 1,494 miles: $115,500
'09 gray 2,925 miles: $110,000
I know you said you want low mileage, but I wouldn't limit myself to that. I bought mine 2 years ago with 60K miles on it, and no one can believe it has that many miles. Everyone thinks it has a few thousand, the car is in perfect condition and looks like it is brand new, and I love that I don't have to worry about putting too many miles on it.

Just wondering, what positives do you see in our economy? I'm not trying to start an argument at all, just truly curious, cause I see nothing but a massive recession world wild, the world was shut down for almost two years and free money was flowing to everyone, it caused unimaginable consequences, now we'll all be paying for it

On the issue of mileage, my view is the less someone else has driven the vehicle, the less I have to be concerned about abuse and maintenance, although an 300 mile car could have accumulated all those miles 1/4 mile at a time LOL.

Even though I don't own a ZR1, I do own a 2000 C5, and really nice low mile C5 prices are up considerably over 2 years ago. C5s are a dime a dozen compared to C6 ZR1s. So-Looking at it logically, Vettes, arguably, hold their value better than any other American made sports car, and far better than average American made car. Factor in the low production numbers of C6 ZR1, and the value jumps even higher. With these limited production Vettes, the only way their value is going to go is up! On a related, ZR-1 note, the last 2 or 3 years I've noticed C4 ZR-1s are showing up less and less at Corvette only car shows. Used to be there was usually at least a couple two or three at the medium sized shows. Hell, I raced one once at a tiny dragway in Michigan's thumb (Ubly). I haven't seen one at the strip for years. Their values must be jumping, too........

The above prices are very sobering, obviously the high values are nowhere near the $130s - $140s

I think there must be a magic number for mechanical parts to be honest....3500 mile 10 yo car sounds great but, you really don't have enough miles on it to see if anything is going to fail due to mnfg defects.... there's also a vast difference between a high mileage, well taken care of car vs just plain ol high mileage. if well maintained then it should be fairly "like new" because things that break gets replaced, and things that wore out got replaced... just my opinion

I already own a really nice Viper - 2009 600HP SRT-10 Vert with 3300 miles. Bought it new in April 2010 (the 2008-2010 great recession). Chrysler just entered bankruptcy and were offering dealers huge incentives to move the iron to prove to congress that they were a viable company. I get offers to buy that car every time I take it out.
