Default AHP 442ci LS7 670rwhp/623rwtq on 91 Octane

442ci LS7/C6z06 Puts down 670rwhp/623rwtq on 91 Octane!!!

We Wanted to post this build as it is hands down Our favorite & most popular LS7 builds that we do here at AHP. This build consistently puts down 650-700rwhp (depending on mods, tune, etc…).

Forged AHP Pistons, AHP Rods and AHP Crankshaft
Darton Sleeved LS7 Block

AHP Archangel LS7 cylinder heads with Comp Cams BSR Shaft Mount Rocker Arms
AHP Stage 3 442ci LS7 Camshaft

AHP Ported FAST 102 LSXR Intake Manifold with DW65 Fuel Injectors
AHP Ported Stock LS7 Throttle Body
Halltech Cold Air Intake
Long Tube Headers with No Catalytic Converters

This customer uses his C6z06 mainly as a track vehicle but does occasional drive it on the street as well. We have other AHP 442ci LS7 Engine customers that daily drive this same setup and have no issues with low speed (parking lot) bucking or highway surging. Excellent driving Characteristics all around with this setup.

All our engines and cylinder head are built here in house and are Engine dyno broken in on our Superflow SF902s Engine Dyno

We offer in house Installs and also worldwide shipping

That's a lot of N/A power. Is there a reason why you used the Fast intake and not an MSD? Doesn't the MSD consistently outperform the Fast?

Correct the MSD intake does out perform the FAST intake.
With that said this particular customer already had a FAST intake laying around that he wanted to make use of so he asked us to port it then install it.

Why does it lay over like that so hard?

If I were to take a guess, the intake manifold is being swallowed up by the combination. In our testing with large cube LS engines, typical production intakes don't have a chance. We recently did a 474 cubic inch track engine using a comp LSXHR intake. It picked up 50hp up top switching from the long runners to the shortest possible runners. From our previous intake testing on a standard 427, the jump between runners what not even close to this. I concluded that the lack of plenum volume for the additional displacement is the main culprit based on the dyno data.

Curious how this would do with a Carbon XR (twin plenum) or an individual intake runner or cross ram type manifold (Harrop, Kinsler, etc.) With tuned intake runners, I bet that thing would produce some nasty numbers. Solid build AHP! Thank you for providing turnkey solutions like this.

Congrats on the nice build !

Now this day, business is business and peoples try to put their opinions over to influence business back to them or even just for fun to show their opinion...
Intake are probably a point of restriction, but not at that RPM feeding a 442ci. The whole point there are the customer want to run on pump gas 91 octane.

So the compression are suited accordingly for his need coupled with the right spark timing for the shake of things. Put that thing at 13.6:1 on a E85 tune with a new MSD ported by AHP that still fit under the hoods, not those useless intake that we need to cut the hood and losses everything to 6000 rpm and gain few at 8000rpm, and this engine will perform like an arrow to 7500 rpm no doubt of that. Cam timing, compression ratio and spark advance play 80% of the Hp curve from 6000 to 7500 or so.

But again, AHP put this engine combo to suite some customers request with reliability and good performance in mind. Not for a dyno queen to sell package as we have seen multiple time over the last decades on this forum !

No sir, the numbers are Rear Wheel Horse Power numbers from a Chassis Dyno not Flywheel HP numbers from an Engine Dyno.

So you commission your own set of rods, crank, and pistons now? Or just parts that you choose based on?

Thats correct we are making our very own AHP Rods, Cranks and Pistons now. We got tired of shelf parts not meeting our standards so we decided to start getting everything custom made to our specs and standards in order to ensure the highest quality in our builds

Customer who owns the car in this thread was racing his Friend who drives a Modded C7zr1 this past weekend at Auto Club Speedway.
Check out the C7zr1's track cam and watch the AHP 442ci walk away and put some good distance on a modded C7zr1:

When you pull against a boosted car with an NA motor you get to exaggerate a little haha
