Default Zr1 rear badge placement

My rear badge has been crooked since I purchased the car new, and I’ve been thinking about buying another badge and straightening it. I’ve noticed many stock crooked badges. So my question is could anyone post dimensions on there straight one? Like how far down from the taillights and how far off center of them?

thank you

The OEM badges are pinned to fit in factory drilled holes. Only one way to install. Either a bad badge was installed when built or the holes were drilled wrong. I don’t believe aftermarket badges have pins

are you sure? The rear fascia is the same part number across all trim lines, so none have holes as far as I know?? I also ordered a new badge and while it looks as if it had pins at one time or a provision for them the OEM part came with a small radius to match the rear fascia.

the rear OEM badge is 25858635
the side OEM badge is 25858633

the rear has no pins and has radius.
the rear is also noticeably thinner

the side badges are the same number for both, and I have not ordered those, so maybe those have pins. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will post up.

would someone be willing to take a few measurements of the rear badge location? Please

thank you

You can remove one of the taillights and reach in and check for pins/holes.

I would look at a few other ZR1's or some pictures. They all look crooked. I looked at mine and it appears twisted slightly left. I also looked in my 2011 service manual and the only emblems that use alignment holes are the Corvette emblem in the center of the front and rear facia. The Z06 and ZR1 emblems don't. In the old days service manuals would give measurements so body repairs can be done and emblems can be applied in the correct location. My service manual does not have these measurements and doesn't even show the ZR1 emblem on the rear facia.

I stuck my hand behind the location. No pins or holes

i agree most, if not all, do look crooked. Mine is twisted slightly left as well. Slightly annoying. It’s almost as if they just had someone stick them on “close enough” when built.

Just wanted to get a reference point.

I found this in a search. Wonder if they are all close to these dimensions.

OP, apologies about the badge pins info. I thought you were talking about the flag badges. My rear ZR1badge is 1/16” lower at the blue 1. Not going to change it for 1/16”.

Here’s some pics of mine that is stock and straight.

The R falls directly below the centre of the two tail lights, 8” from the bottom of the tail lights to the top edge of the emblem. Bottom edge of emblem is 3 1/8” above the transition between body colour (white) and black rear valance.
Hope this helps.

It's perfectly centered between the two tail lights, but, it just don't look straight to me ... Seems like the right side of the emblem is a little too low.

I think it needs to align horizontally more with the tail lights (forget about alignment with the lower black plastic diffuser ... it's angled slightly anyway).

The pictures might distort the level/straight orientation of the emblem. The emblem is mounted level/straight as per a level, just like a level picture on the wall.
