Z06 purchase prospect
I've been searching for several months and see this 2008 Z06 with 60K miles for $34900 online. TX car it's whole life. I really like these wheels with the silver car. I didn't think these wheels came as an option until '09.... I suppose someone might have swapped them.
I'm curious to hear the comments on this one. This car is 4.5 hours from me.

You're getting the 08 updates. Honestly, that's not a horrible price. See how close they'll go to $30k....

I, too, think it’s high for 60k mi. Couple things I noticed, the gap around the headlights is a little off & it does still have the original clutch master cylinder. Considering both my Corvettes had the mc go, I’m surprised it’s still there at that mileage but I also wouldn’t risk driving it 4-5 hours home.
A quick autotrader search showed several ‘08+ Z06’s with about half the miles for right about the same price or just a thousand or two more. I’d widen your search.

I appreciate the responses. I missed that about the MC..... which is why I posted it.
I'm getting a bit anxious to find "the one" since I'm finally within my purchase window.

Here’s one pretty much identical to the one you posted a year newer & 1/2 the miles.

If you’ve got multiple drivers and/or will drive in cold weather where heated seats are necessary, then yeah I’d look for one with those features. The front OEM splitter is $100 or a few hundred for an aftermarket.
My primary attribute would be miles, but that’s me.

Valid differences, but realistically how often will you use memory and/or heated seats? I’m the only driver so I put the seats/mirrors where I need them & they’re never touched. I’ve yet to use my heated seats because I don’t drive the car when it’s cold.

Something else to consider with the “memory” function. I’ve had to reset the position of the side mirrors more with the memory function in this car than I did in my previous GS without the memory option. Every time I disconnect the battery to do some work on the car, I have to reset the memory settings - it’s annoying honestly.

I agree with JABCAT, Do you plan to drive the car in cold temperatures? Are you going to be the only driver? If so then both of those options are not needed

It's true that I will normally be the one driving the car. I do have a friend or two that I would let drive it. My wife won't ever want to drive it due to being an M6. I have recently discovered some positive aspects about the GS seats that are steering me in that direction. I realize I could put better seats in an older Z06 but when I add up all of the pros and cons of the Z06 vs GS for my intended usage, the GS is coming out on top(for my needs).

I may be off base here, as I own a C5. The older I get, the more I appreciate the easy seat entry/exit. Doesn't this option require the memory function?

Yes, and I can see how that might be beneficial if you’re on the taller side, but at 5’9”, I don’t use that feature.

What about this one guys? I have spoke with a salesmen who is supposed to be getting me a video and look over things personally. I was told they do a 160 point inspection. In today's market, this seems like a deal. But the fact that they have had this car for a while is a bit alarming. It has been on Cargurus for over 2 months and they have come down in price from $40K. Dealer also doesn't have a good reviews on Cargurus.

Tucson isn’t far from Phoenix, which has a very big performance car scene, so I’d be a little skeptical as well if it’s been listed for awhile & they’re dropping the price.

The price is right, the mileage is right......see if you can get some close-ups of any “imperfections” the dealer might note for a serious buyer. See if you can get a short video of startup and short drive.
If I was in the market for one.....I would be spending some time vetting this car.
Personally, I would rather have a car like this that didn’t have the heads “fixed”. Unless someone has documentation from a reputable shop that had replaced the heads with aftermarket heads, new valve guides, and exhaust valves.....I’m going to take it to a shop and have it fixed the way I want anyways......and it’s going to be way more than $2,500.
I am very happy with the Z06 I bought......basically like it came from the factory.
