`2011 Carbon Edition Fuel Rail Covers
I have the now 8 mile 2011 Carbon Edition coming soon as was looking through some articles from 2011 describing all the different things with the car that separates it from a C6 ZO7 with the Carbon Package. I ran across several press releases from GM that show it came with a carbon fiber pattern “engine cover’ which I assume is to be the fuel rail covers and I have found pictures of that but I don’t know if those were something that’s a aftermarket thing or were they really were supposed to be shipped to the dealers with the rest of the parts they had to install during the PDI. The dealership I’m buying the car from says they definitely don’t have them so
does anybody know about this? Thanks

First off congrats on the purchase, beautiful low mile carbon! I have researched the exact same thing and sent an email to GM. The info I got, long story short, the press releases were before the carbon editions came out and it was something GM changed before production. No idea why, probably bean counters trying to save money. Our cars should of came with those engine covers! Every carbon edition came with the plain red z06 ones unfortunately.

No longer made and might as well be made of "Unobtainium" ... In fact, they went extinct from GM about 7 years ago.
BTW .... I still have a set of these GM covers (for the wet sump LS3) that have the LS3 logo on them that are in mint condition and still sitting on my bedroom closet shelf.

Not aftermarket .... authentic GM fuel rail covers
The LS3 covers were GM P/N: 19159030
Don't know the LS7 GM P/N

These cars were never shipped with special covers.. The Carbon's received standard engine covers.
On a similar note, our cars do not have a carbon roof, which kind of doesn't make sense, but it is what it is.
Is this the IO car that was sitting at a dealer for the last 9 years I posted about a while ago? Care to share what it went for? P.M if you want to keep it private, just idle curiosity on my part. Congrats!

Well that solves that mystery! Thanks for the information. Your probably right about the bean counters killing it off but with just 252 cars made how much could they really have saved by putting carbon fiber engine covers on a limited production car they named the Carbon Edition! They certainly would have made the cars more unique with them and since they obviously made at least one set to go with the press release why couldn’t they at least have made them a option? Crazy.

I predict that someday these genuine GM covers will sell for some big bucks since they are so very rare ... go see if you can find a set ... my guess is that you wont

Personally I think the covers GM advertised with the Carbon Edition aren’t that great looking - they still look like plastic & not CF. My Callaway has real CF covers and they’re pretty nice I don’t know if anyone makes genuine CF LS7 covers but that’s what I’d look for.

If you have a 2011 Carbon Edition Z06, I don't think you want fuel rail covers that have LS3 inscribed in them ??
EDIT: And mine have the hole in the passenger side cover that the oil fill neck pops through (for the wet sump engine) ... won't look good if used on a dry sump engine.

I wouldn’t be putting them on the Carbon, I’m keeping it stock, I had just read the GM press release saying they came with Carbon Fiber “Patterned” engine covers and if that were true I wanted to make sure they didn’t get misplaced at the dealership. I bought a 2008 supercharged Corvette with the LS3 I bought from a really nice guy who’s a member on here a few months ago I would put them on.

IO Hennessy ZO6/ZO7 with the HPE 600 package with the CFP option that came with the full length CF rear spoiler painted black, CF black painted side mirrors and I think you could have ordered the CF raised hood that came with the CFE giving you more actual CF parts than you got with the Carbon Edition.
