Sunday country cruising in the Callaway
It’s really the first time I’ve driven the Callaway for any length of time. Took my youngest for some frozen custard & then a nice 2 hour drive out in the country.
Some observations:
Lots of road noise. I’ll admit that I have previously commented to those that said they had a lot of road noise that it was’t that bad. Well I have the same tire/wheel set up that I had on my GS & both cars had the entire interior covered with Noico 80 mil sound deadening. I’ve driven these exact same roads in both cars and the Z is significantly louder.
This car has a lot of power & it comes very quick. Pulled out to pass a vehicle doing 50 in a 70 mph zone and with just a blip of the throttle it felt like it was going to get squirrelly & I was at 90 😬
Total blast to drive, as was my GS, but a lot less shifting needed on the same roads & hugs the road a lot better. I definitely need to take it out more & get a better feel for how it behaves.

Wow... what great pics "Jab"..... So, did you take the car out on DNT to 380, to 377? Or did you take 289 out the back way to Collinsville?

Thanks! Took 289 out. There’s another road off 289 in Celina headed east to Anna with a lot of curves that I like to drive also but last time I was out it was under construction so we headed west instead. Only me & a really nice C5 for about 25 miles. I think he was wanting to play but we were just out for a leisurely drive

They are really fast , tons of torque on the bottom end and I only had the LS3 SC606. The best pull I made was a really hard 3-4 shift at 90 miles an hour and it chirped the tires . Total fun !

Yep... great road. Wife and I have been looking out in the country and took my Trackhawk out on FM455... wished I'd been in my ZR1.

OP, What tires do you run on that car?

There was a lot of road noise coming in so I’m not sure what the difference in insulation is between the Z & the GS, if any? I had the exact same tires on my GS, both cars have 80 mil Noico sound deadening throughout the entire cabin. My son was videoing part of the drive & when you watch the video there is a lot of background noise - sounds like my windows were down but they weren’t. My GS was super quiet inside even with longtubes & Corsa Xtreme.

JABCAT, I have had a lot of black cars in my day, I just always seem to end up there when buying, but these pics of your car are absolute beauty...I would definitely, definitely buy this colour/version...amazing pkg...love it!!
