Default Who has the absolute cheapest head fix w/new valves&guides+rockers?AHP/WCCH Texas sp?

As the title says how much is the cheapest fix for bone stock heads keep them stock but fix them, new guides new exhaust valves do I need new rocker arms?

2009 Z06 bone stock 72,000 miles heads never done but burns a quart of oil between oil changes.

I need guidance and pricing. I can pull the heads but I would need help reinstalling them.

Thanks fellas!

Mark

I chose AHP because I called and actually was able to speak to someone (Kohle) about what my plans were. I never got a chance to speak to anyone personally at WCCH. APH was very patient with me and my questions and they seemed very knowledgeable based off my searching on the forum. At the end of the day there are haters on this forum for both companies. Either decision would be good in my opinion.

I would think it would behoove you to call the two local places and ask for pricing, no? No one is going to be able to tell you specifically what you need without actually looking. The shop doing the swap will be able to give you exact recommendations instead of a bunch of guys saying buy this or that. Look at recommendations/reviews at each shop and pick the best from there. I have hard time understanding what it is you want to do when your title basically says I want the cheapest **** I can.

i just went with AHP and am satisfied like the other poster said, great to do business with. Prices are clearly listed on the site for package 4. New GM lifters and springs are inexpensive as are the treys given your mileage. You should do the CHE trunnion upgrade yourself to save $$ in my opinion.

i can’t speak to WCCH.

Cheapest is probably any local machine shop, call around and ask what they charge. Friend had his fixed for about $450 at a local place. Turned out fine.

I would goto WCCH if you are in Cali. By far one of the best head places in the country. No need to touch rocker arms.

I wouldn’t choose machine shops on price alone.

Absolute cheapest? I would call around. Id think TSP. Its an easy metric to make a decision with compared to asking who does the best head fix which gets this place all riled up lol

"Absolute cheapest" does not always yield the absolute best. But you know this.

It's your car.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

As mentioned above, the cheapest head fix will most likely be found at your local cylinder head production rebuilder. I tried that several years ago and the heads lasted about 15,000 miles. A friend of mine got almost 2000 miles before a valve stuck (stuck, not dropped). The second time around we went a different route. I got rebuilt heads from AHP, he went with LME. So far so good for both cars, time will tell.

"Absolute cheapest" can turn out to be the most expensive.

This applies to a lot of things, not just cylinder heads. There is a reason they are cheap. Quality costs.

Take a sheet of paper; write down, LME, WCCH, AHP, AI, and TSP. Tear it up, place it in a hat, and take a pick.

Add SPS to that list, and personally I would take 2 of those off but do whatever you want.

Another vote for AHP. They know what they are doing, use quality materials and their prices are very reasonable. They also communicate very well and work on hundreds of LS7 heads each year.
