Default ZR1 Magnetic Ride Control Adjustment by Jim Mero

I just returned from visiting Jim Mero in Michigan with a friend who has a 2013 Grand Sport. We both had Jim flash his magnetic ride control adjustments to our cars. I always felt my ZR1 had a harsher ride than I would like. I never used the Sport mode due to the harshness. I am now a believer in this. The ride is so much better and the car is much more in control on very rough streets. I obviously haven't tracked it, but Mero believes the result will be much improved handling, similar to the results of the dealer installed adjustments to the C7. If you have a 2009 or later C6 with magnetic ride control I would encourage you to visit Jim Mero's website to see the benefits he thinks can be achieved.

A lot of R&D went into the ZR1.... It is truly "Overbuilt". Not sure how one could make them drive, ride better. Is this something that ZR1 owners typically do? I take delivery of mine this weekend. I think the money would be better spent on the Ligenfelter 710 kit...

you do know who and what Jim used to do for GM right?
Anyway, this brand new, so not too many people have had it re-programmed. I missed Jim by a week when he was at his winter house in SC, otherwise I would have had it done as well.
I bet this will shave off a few seconds from a lap time too, and from the testimonial, it's like getting a new car. I can think of a few more expensive mods that don't even yield such improvements for 5-10 times the cost lol

I have definitely heard of him yes. My statement was not intended to be negative. As previously stated, I just picked up my 12 CBM ZR1 and take delivery this weekend. Therefore am not well versed on this platform. But I will be!

Perhaps I should have said "tell me more".

fair enough. You'll notice when you get yours that on the street, when you switch from tour to sport there is no difference you can feel at all (when I got mine I thought my mag shocks weren't working properly!)....the only difference I could ever feel was on track: in tour, the car would lean a little, in sport, it basically doesn't. His website highlight the differences. In short, he worked on the 2016 (?) and up Z06 tuning that GM implemented in the 2016(?) and up models which yield significant improvements. He decided to employ that same approach for the C6 mag ride, which has yield the same significant improvements. You'r basically swapping shocks (figuratively speaking) for 350$!

New tour, new sport. Haven’t tried the sport out yet, but love the tour. It’s like a new car.

Has to be done in person. I know he plans to be at the Bash and I think Carlisle. Or if there are enough in a club or an area, he will come there. His price is $325.

Just a side note, some of us can feel the difference between tour/sport on street and track. Different compression and rebound rates and a pretty significant amount imo. That said for my wife’s sake, I’ll probably be getting the flash at some point for a more comfortable Tour for her when she rides with me

I had the '13 GS that got upgraded at the same time as the ZR1 was done. We both got the New Tour / New Sport upgrade.and were number 10 & 11, so early adapters.
For those wondering we drove to Jim's house in Michigan from the Indianapolis area and both definitely feel that it was worth the trip. We could feel a difference as soon as we left his house, but the full effect was not there until the next morning when we left a nearby motel. During our trip back we drove through heavy rain storms and both felt that the car didn't jump as much when hitting puddles.

Hey there, thunder

My website has all the options of obtaining the upgrade, there are several. If you choose the exchange option, on my blog page there is instructions and videos on how to change the controller in a wet and dry sump car.
