Default Clutch Pedal Position Relearn

I figured I'd post this here since it will probably get more views than in the Scan and Tune section. I have an RPS BC2 clutch. With the clutch release at the top of the pedal travel (Not sure if that is the best way to describe it) I bought the Lingenfelter Clutch Stop. Once I installed it the car wouldn't start. I hooked up my laptop and opened the HP Tuners VCM Scanner. I opened the Vehicle Controls and Special Function window and tried to do a relearn on the clutch pedal. Obviously I'm not doing something right because the car still wont start but once I remove the clutch stop it starts fine. I did a Google search and I'm not seeing anything that really helps. It showed a couple of threads here and on HP Tuners site but no clear cut answer. Has anyone done a relearn and know the correct steps to take? I also tried to unhook the battery but that didn't do anything.

Thanks in advance.

No problem at all! Maybe rig something up on the back so the pedal hits it higher up. I hate depressing the clutch that much on a stock unit when I know the release is high.

Why you installed the clutch stop? Just curious as to what the benefits are.

Some aftermarket units require it so you dont hydraulically hyperextend the piston.

Just found out that my 2011 doesn't have a button. It's a sensor that runs off of a voltage sweep. So a relearn has to be done with a scan tool.

I posted my journey at HPT when I swapped ECMs. You can read it here. Maybe you'll find a nugget that will help you.

Disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect it and it will work fine.

I'm assuming you installed the longest bolt in the kit? There's a "sweet spot" that you have to shoot for. Install the second longest bolt and mess with it a little. Adjust out until it's enough that the car won't start, then back it off a bit. Confirm the car starts in the position and then lock it down. This is how I did my install. Definitely a reduction in travel.

I installed the clutch stop on my car and it would not start after I did it. All I needed to do was disconnect the battery and reconnect and it has worked fine ever since.

Good to know. Like I said, this is how I did it. I'm used to it already and don't really want to mess with it because I know it shifts well at high rpm and I'm used to the travel.

Jay was right. There wasn't enough travel with sensor. As soon as I bottomed the bolt out. The car fired right up. With the measurements I took I had it set to about 1" of free play. I'm at about 1.5" now it will start.

Thanks for all of the input.

A very real benifet, for drag racing purposes, is the decreased pedal travel when performing a shift.
I was just talking to NachoZ06 about this setup. If your clutch disengagement/engagement is in the upper range of the clutch pedal stroke (say 25% near the top of the travel), the other 75% of the travel is "wasted motion" when trying to click off fast gear changes.
For the more experienced drivers, this has been a known trick to knock off several hundreds, if not tenths, of a second off their ET's, which can be an eternity for those of us who are ET chasers
10.10 versus 9.9X

Both LPE and ECS sell these "clutch stops"

The Lingenfelter clutch stop is for 08+ models with the clutch sensor. 07 and below have clutch switches that need to be pressed down for the car to start. So ECS piece is the way to go. I ordered mine last week. We'll see how it works on my car.
