I'm betting 2-3 MPH, with the wicker set at the minimal height.

It looks like the best bet is to pull it all off and tape over the holes for the 1/2. Everyone’s guess are on par with my thoughts as well. That is unless there is 3M tape under there, then pull the center and use the giggle gas.

I'd say at least a few mph, maybe more. The drag becomes increasingly severe at around 150mph in my C7Z, to the point that I can feel it with the wicker at the highest position. I'm easily losing 4-5mph over the same distance. The car simply cannot accelerate at the same rate. So because the drag is increasing exponentially with velocity, you then need exponentially more power as speed increases. For example, the power used at 150mph is 8 times what is needed at 75mph, even though you are only going twice as fast. And if you add an aerodynamic load (drag) to the car this compounds the issue significantly. Drag is the bane of race cars at high speeds, and I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars to reduce drag on my car. It is one of the reasons my wing is a top mount (swan neck) wing. Less drag for the same downforce. I also have an integrated gurney channel that adds downforce without the usual drag.
As a final note, the C7Rs are racing at Watkins Glen RIGHT NOW. If you want to see how a race car like the C7R operates at speed in an environment it was built for, then find the FS1 channel on your TV and put the damn race on. You can also watch in car views of the C7R right here: https://imsatv.imsa.com/
I'm here now watching.

Matt,
Car is looking on point, good luck with the wicker bill.
Mordeth,
I was also at the race and did their on track event and was amazed at how fast these guys are flying down the track.

Sounds good, I would do the same. I am thinking about ZR1 aero on my car but I want no downforce for half-mile and rolls. Then again I do want to do some autocross and maybe a roadcourse weekend for ride around (not push it, I had a dedicated car for track).
Once you you start doing trackdays, you will get hooked. Your Welds will go to the wayside for a 18x11/13 setup on R7’s and you will never look back. I will say this, trackdays are not cheap. A weekend with entry fee, gas, and hotel will set you back $600+ and at COTA you may spend $1,200+. Autocross is a tad cheaper and easier on your car. A local event may run you $100 in entry, gas, tires, and brakes.
Hahaha true that.

Well yes, of course you should. God himself built our cars for a road course and it is a true challenge of driver skill and car setup. It is also infinitely more fun. I've done all kinds of racing in my life and while mashing the pedal and going fast in a straight line is legit cool, it is nothing like driving a C6Z at the limit on an actual race track in anger. I realize though that it isn't for everyone.

. $600 isn't bad..Hell the 1/2 mi events are around $300... I have 2 local Auto X courses I could go to.. one down in Austin. I have been kicking it around for awhile. Time will tell. Thanks for the kind words, inspiration.

Looks great, and that is what I am looking for as well as mentioned in my thread you chimed in on! I think it sets the car apart even more like you said!
Now, I just have to get over the price tag!!

Nowadays it is more of an expression.
That is true, heck the Speed Addicts GA event was $250 a day! $600 is a good number to guess for a weekend that is not COTA. MSR Cresson is in Houston or near it, that is a good spot. There are a few tracks within 5 hours of DFW you can hit. Autocross is great because that definitely is cheaper, less wear on your car as well. Have you been to a track day before? Probably one of the best part of track days is meeting people as well.
I may would just keep the Welds for fun use unless they are sitting collecting dust. There are some CCW C10’s or 14’s on FB for our cars for $2k right now. I would grab them if I had the extra cash to burn haha. Look into BC Forged if you are going new as well. They are made in the same factory that Signature is made and they are close to $1k cheaper. They quoted me $2,800 for 18x11/13’s and I still had to pay shipping if I pulled the trigger though. I may go Forgestar when I want wheels lol.
Either way you will like it.
Yeah, those are my thoughts as well. I have a local guy that would buy my Welds... Too easy... I see the CCW C10's, C14's.

It isn't the entry cost that make track days so expensive, but the consumables. Tires, brakes, gas, etc etc. I was spending $1000+ a weekend easy.

True that and I did forget Vette tires are bigger than what I run on my mustang. That is serious money there. If he finds some take-off Hoosiers or used IMSA Continental’s for cheap he should be ok and save a little. Last weekend I did was last December at Road Atlanta, $400 entry, $80 in gas for the car, $60 in gas for the truck, and wear items like tires and brakes were maybe $150-$200. I run 275 Toyo RR’s so Tire costs are a tad higher than High Performance tires like Cup 2’s. It is not cheap, to me it is worth it and fun.

I spent on average 1000-1200 a weekend running HPDE's. It is definetly the most fun and challenging, but significantly more expensive than all of the other types of performance driving events I participate in.
That's what I love about the C6 Z06....it's an all around performer and excels in all these events while still being a street car.

$1000 a day was a cheap day, with any wrecks, opps, etc making them $3-5k days. Just wasn't worth it. Then again did 26k miles at the track one year. That was fun.
