Anyone with a stock c6z06 run a stock c7z06?
Just curious if anyone over here with a relatively stock c6z has run a stock c7z and what the results were.
i just made the move from a c6z to a c7z. And I don’t think the c7z is near as quick or fast from a 40 or 50 mph roll on up to 140 or 150.

I did 20-30 runs vs a c7z last weekend they pulled on me by 2 cars or so to 100 then got reeled in before 160. If I got the jump they never had a chance to catch up. My c6z is bone stock and we probably split the runs fairly evenly. He was probably heatsoaked and it was a auto.

Here is a really long thread on it that I read awhile back where many have agreed with you. By the way, congrats on the C7, it looks really nice.

Every time I fire up my C6Z for a spin I hope to run across a C7Z. And it never fails, either I see one going the opposite direction or not at all. I have a Heads/Cam + full bolt ons Z06 though so hopefully I would pull him from a roll.

Other than the vast improvements to the interior of the C7, I really don’t see the attraction to the C7. The C6 generation Z and ZR-1 are by far one of the best gens ever made. I still prefer the looks of the C6 gen Z’s.

You have a gorgeous car... I too have thought of moving up to the C7Z but simply cannot justify it. Two contributing factors.
C6Z is paid for and mine...
C6Z is built nicely and would hand a C7Z his ***...
I need to go check out that thread.... I am sure they kicked you in the nutz..

C7z is bad for roll racing. Especially the auto ones. Poor gearing, the aero hurts them at higher speeds, heavier, etc...
A HCIE C6z @ 600whp can out run a 700whp c7z pretty easily. They'd need 750whp, minimum to even hope to stay door to door.

at HPDE's, stock for stock C6ZR1 vs C7Z06, we're equal, though my buddy swears I start pulling on him at 145 up (when I followed him I couldn't really tell if I was or not..). Have a friend with a stock C6Z06 and if I follow him on the same track, in that same straight I have to back off the throttle a little...(that's from 109-150 on both instances)...LS7 does feel punchier (I ride with him sometime since he was my instructor, when I need a refresh) and that 5000-7000 hits pretty good, vs my ZR1 who seems less "punchy", though we both agree my low end/mid range is ridiculous...he was impressed that I don't need to spin the LS9 to the moon or I can be in a higher gear (wrong gear for a specific portion of the track) and still be ok. I've tested 6200 shift point to 5400 shift point in that same straight coming out at 109 and I still reach the same top end, so I don't even bother spinning past 5500 much more....I digress but those are some of the differences that should be "noted" (and I've owned both C6Z cars too)...anyway...just some things to think about!

A8 should stomp a mud hole in a C6Z from a dig. Highway racing makes the race a little closer but I'd still expect a C7Z (either trans) to still walk a C6Z.
Each new generation of the Vette in recent decades has been faster than the previous. People said the same thing about C6Zs when they came out. They felt fast, but next to a modded C5Z, they didn't sound as fast and due to the gearing difference, certain MPH hit harder.

The C6Z is a track car, the C7Z is a better track car. The C6Z is a better roll car.

This is a pretty funny video of a race between the two cars and shows the frustration of a C7Z owner getting his *** handed to him by the older car with less HP.
