Default Sold the C6Z, now what?

Sold my 513rwhp C6Z with 12k miles. First thought is C6ZR1>C7Z, but curious what others who sold their C6Z as non-daily get next? C6ZR1, C7 something, GTR, ZL1, Hellcat? My heart is probably set on C6ZR1 but curious about others thoughts.

I would go GTR or 997 Turbo if I were in your spot to be honest with probably ending up in the 997 Turbo. The C6 ZR1 to me is just too similar of a car to the C6Z. You clearly are looking for a change and honestly think after eight months in the ZR1 you will find yourself right back into the same spot you are in now.

Not that I did not like the C6Z, ZR1 was always in the back of my mind. Timing was right to sell and I have some financial stuff to settle in maybe a year then I might be more comfortable getting something nicer. With a quick search, looks like for similar miles, 997 Turbo's are ~30k more than ZR1? Add that to maintenance cost and I could not justify that over ZR1, but I like the idea, thanks.

You came from a very low mileage Z06 which leads me to believe you will want to find a similar well taken care of ZR1 which should cost you around 62k. I see clean 997 Turbo six speeds out there for 72k. You should hang out on the for sale section of 6speedonline.com. I am really trying to give you a different perspective to debate because the purchase process is always the fun part. I really would like for you to spend some time on researching how damn reliable the 997 Turbos can be which is pretty much solid. If you are not a JDM fanboy then the GTR will get old for you very quickly, so your options are starting to get reduced. I would do a 13-14 GT500 before a Hellcat all day long.

If you are the younger tuner type the GTR might be nice especially with it's track performance. Not to many downsides to the Porsche other than price and space. I'd choose a C7 Z06 I like the power and new level of amenities.

Agreed. Gen 6 ZL1 will be my next car this year. I want the 10 speed auto though. I'd choose one over a C7Z which is blasphemous.

I could not respectfully disagree more. I went from a C6 Z06 to a 2012 Centennial ZR1 and could not be happier. The 2 cars are worlds apart. Not to mention I own 1 of only 206 Centennials ever made. All the other cars you mentioned are a dime a dozen.
But hey, to each there own! Everyone should do what makes them happy.

C6 ZR1 all day long. You can do some light mods and get it to 632rwhp with stock drivability - no brainer. But if you want something other than a Corvette, then go for it. I have a C6 Z06 making 526rwhp and I want to get a C6 ZR1, but I want to add it on. Don't want to part with my Z. To much fun to drive and you have to love the N/A motor. All the new cars will have superchargers or turbos.

Well Chevrolet did take the limitation off the Corvette being the pinnacle car. So the Camaro team was able to step their game up

Completely agree with you ---- the ZR1 stands on its own compared to other C6's. I have a Procharged base C6, have driven Z06's and my ZR1 is worlds apart.

Thanks everyone for responses. 911 just isn't for me. With the vast improvement in the Camaro I can see why it's a good option but styling doesn't quite do it for me. If I get a C6ZR1 it will not be/stay stock so the difference in it and my I had C6Z will be a lot. I'm not a amenities guy but can appreciate them, just not a big thing for me. My daily is my first car, 99 blazer, and plan to drive it til' it dies. I am curious to see what the C6ZR1 market does.
