Good looking car...how many miles? Any warranty?

I resonate other comments mentioned herein...fix the heads. American Heritage Performance (AHP) typically has re-machined core sets ready to go, as well as a DIY install kit. There's a DIY head swap thread on here if you have moderate mechanical skills and know how to turn a wench. Good luck!

I really prefer the short spoiler but I don't hate the one on it now. 14k miles. being an '08 I'm assuming it's out of warranty. I'm not a fan of aftermarket warranties.(got a dead powerstroke in the driveway with one).
carmax has a basic 30 day warranty and I believe they offer an extended warranty though I doubt it's worth anything. I'm guessing the car is too old to buy any sort of warranty from GM?

They are a GM part #, but many (including myself) installed them on our own. The only factory installed 427 hood badges on a C6Z came on the limited edition Wil Cooksey vehicles in 2008. http://www.corvetteblogger.com/2008/...d-Edition-Z06/

It does in the pictures...close to the windshield on the rise of the hood bulge.

I was curious about a Carmax extended warranty...I've heard good and bad. Me personally, no thanks...GMEPP (formerly GMPP) is the only way to go in my mind. I purchased my GMPP in 2012 for ~$900. I know there are others out there that have come through for people, so my sentiments are simply my opinion. I had AHP fix my heads under my GMPP warranty back in late 2015. 2009 w/ 15K miles, and 14/16 valve guides were beyond GM service limits. Car is 100% street driven and meticulously maintained.

Just about any used c6z will need $4-6k put into it IMO to bring it up to speed to drive/enjoy reliably.

Just for the head fix? that's rediculous.
Yolo I suppose! kinda the reason I bought the car anyways so I might as well throw a cam in her while I'm doing the heads. I've got a lot more reading to do!
any recommendations for a weekend cruiser?

Head fix is $2-3k if you pay someone to do it, $800-1500 if you do it yourself.

A car that old will probably need tires, so that is another $1500. Clutch hydralics need to be flushed and serviced, possibly a new master under the GM TSB if it hasn't been done. New sway bar end links, and shocks. Factory shocks/end links don't last long, and even when they are in good shape, don't work well. Alignment should be done unless you have paperwork showing a recent one. I've never seen a c6z with a decent alignment when purchased. Factory alignment specs also suck, so should be corrected.

I'm sure i can do the work myself. I've got a good amount of experience with cars plus I'm finishing up an ls swap into my C4.
Car has two new tires. sucks they wouldn't spring for the others. I'll have to read up on the alignments but im currently an auto tech so I should be able to handle it.

The 427 hood emblems were only installed on the 08 Wil Cooksey 427 Limited Edition Z06 (all in crystal red) & later on the 427 convertibles.

small update: the car finally got here yesterday but I was told they needed 24 hrs to do a state inspection on it. then today I was told the drivers window had a crack and the window wouldn't arrive from the dealer until Tuesday. if I had known this would have been so much trouble I would've made the 300 mile trip and skipped the whole transport. :/

man I sure hope so. I've been losing sleep waiting for all of this. I don't understand how a window is broken during transport. if anything I was expecting the front spoiler to be damaged but ill be sure to look the car over with a fine tooth comb once it's ready. after hanging around the parking lot and seeing this locations techs walk around, I don't feel comfortable with them working on the car.

finally drove the car home. I was so bummed when I got there to pick her up and saw they had mounted a front plate but they said it was carmax policy since the dealer was in Maryland. really sucks since I'm a wv resident which doesnt have a front plate.
anyways I drove her about 40 miles home and before today I was planning on ordering headers but she sounds perfect the way she is.

Congrats, looks great! I'd be pissed about the front plate as well.
