How much lighter? No one is going to buy a car like this to turn it into a track car..so I don't see the reason to pay extra for a low mile 2006 (over any other year) simply because it has more NVH and three buttons on the steering wheel. Just my opinion.

did you not read the last sentence saying brand new oem polished wheels and new pilot sports in addition to the original wheels and tires ????

I searched for a year and paid a bit more for a low mile '06 Z, mainly for the color.

I don't know how anyone can say the seals will leak as soon as someone starts driving it. There doesn't' seem to be a scientific hypotheses behind the thought process. The precedent does exist that cars that have just been sitting for extended periods could have dried up seals. But we don't know that that is the case with this vehicle just because it has very low miles. Seal substrates have come a long long way in durability and tolerance. There are very high chances this is fine. And for the heads... Drive the car and check them every 5-10k miles. you don't have to go getting heads done right out the gate. Someone is going to get a sweet ride! But all that said, I wouldn't expect it to fetch much higher $ than other lower mile (in the 10k miles range) 2006s

Mid to high 30's would be my guess. I would think the mileage might actually hurt the resale value unless you find a collector, but since it's not a limited color like DSOM it might be difficult.

Low mileage definitely wouldn't hurt the sale, that's just crazy talk.
I also agree, the chances of having seal issues due to sitting is nil. Those days for the most part are long behind us.

Damn - that's basically a brand new Z. If it were mine, I'd probably just drive it and enjoy it, and perhaps price it at a somewhat aggressive 40k with it in mind that if it doesn't sell, I'm still enjoying driving a Z in new condition.

I paid $40K for my victory red 2006 Z06 2lz a year ago. It was a one owner with 2,086 miles, in perfect condition and bone stock Very low mile cars like your will bring a premium. I paid about a $1,000 more than I wanted to, but it was too nice to pass up. Black may be even a better color for resale than red. I would say it should sell for $39-$40K. There are a lot of Z's that are trashed and these low mile, pristine examples are going to become more desirable.

I am currently looking at a 2006 Z06. it has 23,600 miles on it and the dealer is asking 37,900 which I think is high. I am going to stop in this week and see what they would offer me on my C5 and go from there. I am going to ask him to reduce the price since the front seat has a 3 inch tear in the fabric and I will have the heads done so I dont risk blowing a 12,000 dollar engine with a dropped valve. If he refuses to move on the price Ill tell him good day and move on. No harm no foul. The car is also Velocity Yeloow which it sounds like some have a negative view towards but that isnt a reason to justify a price reduction.

Probably an okay retail asking price, but should be bought lower for sure. Velocity Yellow really looks good on that car, but some people have an aversion to yellow. For that price, the condition needs to be an A. The problem is they are going to try and beat you up coming and going on a trade. Do your homework and check the maintenance records and ownership history. Multi owners bother me. Look over the paint carefully for rock chips on the front bumper, hood and rear quarters. And see if they will put the car on a rack so you can look underneath. Another member bought one a few months ago and didn't notice the body damage on the rocker panels from someone who jacked the car up and didn't know what they were doing. Frequent oil changes are key, but no question that the heads/valves will need to be addressed. Good luck!

I've been price shopping and for what I've seen 35k average the low miles 06 might bring it up to the right buyer if there's no issues. Just cause there priced at 38-40k doesn't mean there selling for that. GLWS

your seal theory is BS on a low mileage car.
If if the car had 30 to 50k miles and it was stored a couple of years and then regularly driven again---that's when they have the potential to have leaking seals.
