Default Another Set of LS7 Heads Takes a Crap!

So after going back and forth a million times, I took my Z06 to the local Chevy dealer for the 'wiggle test' .

Guess what........ I failed.

Twice out of GM specs on the driver's side they didn't even bother with the passenger side!

So...... remove the heads and send them to AHP and let Kohle work his magic at my expense!

Not happy!

And my last two purchases were Ford's because they didn't take the O'mama buy out!

CRAP!

any chance of a partial "goodwill warranty" to help defray some of the cost ? dealer can pursue with GM zone rep etc.

sorry to hear about your heads AHP will get you fixed up...

highlighted the bolt part though because seriously? Lol ford was given huge sums of money in super low interest loans to avoid the same fate as GM they also had a portion of the bailout sectioned out for them as well they could use if they ended up needing it...theyre also the only company that still owes the gov money.

if you're buying cars based on stuff like that you probably shouldn't own any of the big 3 cars

Sub'd...shocking that a dealer knew what the wiggle test was, and was willing to perform it.

Default Z06 Details

Mine is an '07 with 22000 miles on it. I bought it used with 8500 miles on it and it was all stock.
As for the stealership, they gave me a parts list and are TWICE the price anyone can purchase the same from GMDirect on line.
Ouch!
I have no idea if the stealership would go to bat with GM

This is happening more and more with our little CF crowd.... Imagine the owners out there who have NO CLUE that this is a "real" issue.

Anyone out there spouting off that the valve guide issue is a non issue should be horse whipped!!

It's not that they don't hear, they don't care.

Yep...except for some Z/28's running around, the factory 3/36 warranty on the LS7 has all but expired. In their eyes, their obligations have been met.

Default Wiggle Test

This is coming from a totally non-mechanic; me!

They stated they removed a spring and had some type of measuring device clamped to the head and measured multiple valves on the driver's side head.

Sounds like the procedure right out of the GM service manuals...

(before they recently revised them for some odd reason)

Tune..

Ok guys here it is. Went to ECS (east coast super chargers) Monday, had the oil changed and a valve guide check. Results 10 thousands out of spec. That being said here is a motor with only 4200 miles on it. The head set up I listed above is the set up I'm going with. They have done tons of these motors with this head set up and have had no problems. I was going to go for the cam package also but after buying the car and fixing the heads funds are low. They told me once I do the fix I'm good to go and won't have any issues. Sucks but at least I will have peace of mind and not worry about it. I will keep you guys posted.

^ Yes, you need to reinstall the lash caps on the Ti intake stem tips or else the rocker arms will pulverize and destroy the stem in no time.

Yes,that's what it means to me,but the seller says they are caps on these pictured intakes that make them black, that he says are new Ti,from Texas Speed, with the new port job
