Price Check on an 06
i found an 06 that I am close to making a deal on. Sub 7k miles all stock in 2LZ trim. What is a fair price for something like this? It appears to be in very good shape with no mods.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Opinions will be all over the place...those wanting to buy will say $29K, those who own a similarly equipped 06 will say $39K.
What is the asking price on the vehicle? Then keep in mind, (1) if its 100% stock w/7k miles, the tires are most likely old (hard) regardless of tread depth unless they were replaced in the last 1-3 years; and (2) the heads will most likely need to be addressed. Taking care of both of these can potentially result in about another $4-5K out of your own pocket after you take possession of the vehicle.

KBB on my 06 same package was 35 retail with 43k on the odometer. I paid 30k with new tire brakes and rotors.
So 7k? 36-38k and I would not waist time at either price.
But do realize as MTPZ06 pointed out, you will need to throw 2500 for sure for heads, and maybe another 1500 for tires [doing it yourself]

Thanks for the info. I think the tires are recent but the heads have not been addressed. Asking price is 38k, which I think is a little high but I wanted some feedback. I want to have a good idea on what a fair price for both parties would be. NADA has the value around 40k for a private sale. Seems high, but I haven't been watching the market recently.

I paid $40K for my 06 in June and it had 2,000 miles on it, one owner and pristine condition and stock. I looked at prices for months and they are still depreciating. If the car is really nice and low mileage it will bring more of course. I would say high $30's is a decent price. If you want something cheap like mid to low 30's it will have a lot more miles and not be in like new condition more than likely. A 2007 recently sold at Barrett Jackson for $47K. I paid a little more than I wanted, but this car was the nicest one out there.

I boughta '06 DSOM Z about a month ago with 18k miles bone stock for $35k.... Was a very fair price IMO and it was in one of my favorite colors so I scooped it up

$35K sounds good but expect to meet in the middle. This time a year ago (or maybe 15 months ago) these cars went for a good bit more. People were paying $35K for 40K miles on the odometer...
consider this a good deal

If its in the kind of condition you would expect for a lower mile car..
$34-36k - Low
$36-38k - Average
$38-40k - High
These numbers are assuming the heads have been "fixed".

Obviously, this can only happen so many times before almost all of the Z's out there are modded in some way.
Either way, a fixed Z is worth the peace of mind. Looking back, I would have found one with this work done to it and left it stock otherwise. Would have saved me $6-8K in the long run as I probably would not have cracked open the engine for any serious mods if I knew the heads weren't a liability.

I am curious when these will bottom out.. The C5Z's with low miles seem to be holding quite strong in the low 20's. I figured low mile C6Z's would have been hovering the upper 20's and low 30's.

You should be price checking in the area you are in (or where the car is being sold). There can be huge differences (thousands) in one area vs another for many reasons.

Two months ago I bought a showroom perfect LeMans Blue '06 Z with 5K miles.

IMO, they shouldn't even be in the $20's at all unless really high mileage. Like 90k+. These cars are much better than the C5s all around. They should bottom out low $30s, but it seems to keep on dropping. Winter is another problem with them not selling or selling at lower than average prices.

Not trying to high-jack, but my stock '08 Z w/ 16k miles and a warranty is in your ballpark:

If no interest, sorry to interrupt... Have a good one.

When I made the statement I meant about five to ten more years down the road. Although I have been seeing some low mile 06-07's going for mid 30's. Pricing is all over the map, I paid 39K for my VR 08 3LZ with 16K miles on it which according to a couple posts above me I over paid which I personally don't think I did.. Victory red with 3LZ in ebony is a hard fined. The heads on my car were not fixed either which is also costing me an extra $2300 to fix. I personally didn't want a car with fixed heads because I wanted to have someone I know do them that I trusted. Clean examples I think will always hover in the 30's though regardless of year.
