Do you bleed the ABS unit under hood?
I noticed the ABS unit under the hood has some type of check-ball things on top of it. I haven't tried to press them down yet but looks like they might be for bleeding air out of the system. Does anybody mess with this or just bleed the brakes like any other car??

I believe that the ABS module needs to be properly bled with the use of specialized equipment that activates the module and cycles the brake fluid through the same. I had this done on my car a bit over two yrs ago, at an independent shop specializing in Corvette repairs. The equipment was on-premises.

For a full flush, you need a Tech 2, which can be purchased for approx. $260 on the Internet. This tool is useful for many other diagnostic and programming functions.
You do not open the lines connected to the ABS unit.

The unit is bled during the normal brake bleeding process by using a Tech 2 to modulate the valves in the unit which flushes trapped air out through the outlet tubing then through the brake calipers and out of the caliper bleed screws.

Using a Tech 2 is the correct way to do it. There are other ways but the Tech 2 is the recommend way.

I just pressurized the master cylinder with a Motive power bleeder and bleed the calipers like usual. Brakes feel fine but I was wondering about those things on the top of abs unit.

if you really wanted you can get a generic j2534 pass through device and then use the Tech 2 emulator on your computer. just make sure you have windows 7. With that you can also do gm down loads.

I got my Tech 2 clone for $270 shipped. It does every, single thing a real Tech 2 does. I use it on my 1994 Z28, 2000 Silverado, 2007 Z06 and my wife's 2010 Yukon. It'll program modules, scan, all user functions etc.
